Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a recording image of good quality by removing deterioration of image quality such as bit omission, duplication, etc., of a main scan line image, by a method wherein a relative recording position on the main scan line is varied based on a temperature of a recording element array head which records the main scan line image by dividing. CONSTITUTION:A partial line signal PA which is recorded in a left half of a main scan line is written from a top address Mo of RAM 43. A write start address is operated in a control part 42 based on detection outputs of temperature detectors 3A, 3B, 3C and a memory position of the partial line image signal PA in RAM 42 varies according to temperatures TA, TB, TC of memory element head arrays 1A, 1B and jig 2. The image signal PA once stored in RAM 43 is read by each pixel at a time with a recording address counter 45, and is shift inputted to the left side memory element array head 1A via an OR gate 47. Reading from RAM 43 is performed from the top address position Mo, and a pseudo image signal PD from a pseudo image signal generation circuit 46 is inputted to the recording element array head 1A via the OR gate 47.
