Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the splashing of mist produced at the time of cutting outside the neighborhood of the cutting place, and to avoid the adhesion of the mist to a cutting nozzle by fitting an air nozzle to the cutting nozzle, and cutting wet paper by passing high-pressure water while forming an air curtain. CONSTITUTION: Both ends of wet paper 5 on wires 7 at the rear part of a wire part are cut by the high-pressure water jetted from a cutting nozzle 1. In this case, air is blown around the jetted water through an air nozzle 3 fitted to the cutting nozzle 1, and an air curtain 10 surrounding the jetted water is formed up to the wet paper 5. By the air curtain 10 formed in this manner, the splashing of the mist 6 produced at the time of cutting is prevented, and the jetted water is attached only to the wet paper 5 in the vicinity of the cutting place. Both the ends of the wet paper 5 thus cut are dropped into a couch pit, and the remainder is dried through subsequent processes while attaching mist inside a slight width inside the cutting line, and then it is wound on a reel.
