Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate power losses by a current limiting resistor by providing a plurality of d.c. pulse power source circuits in a machining current supply section, and by applying supplying machining current between electrodes from the d.c. pulse power circuits having a predetermined time difference. CONSTITUTION:Working pulses from a machining pulse oscillator 10 turn on and off switches 6a, 6b through switch drive circuits 11a, 11b. For example, when the switch 6a is turned on, the voltage of a d.c. voltage source 5a is applied between an electrode 3 and a workpiece through an interpole current reverse checking diode 7a and a reactance 21a. When it is turned off, current runs through a diode 9a to a flywheel current absorbing voltage source 22a. When a similar trapezoidal shape current is fed by the switch 6b which is turned on with a predetermined delay, the current 1a becomes zero. Thus, it is possible to feed a trapezoidal current having a maximum current value maintained during a predetermined time, between the electrodes with no use of a current limiting resistor, thereby it is possible to enhance the energy efficiency.
