Abstract

PURPOSE: To speed up the initialization of a floppy disk by making a changeover between an output of a delay means for an index signal and the index signal based on a side changeover signal.
CONSTITUTION: The index signal A to be generated in the titled floppy disk driving device is fed to an input terminal 1. The index signal A is fed as it is to a selecting circuit 6, while a delay signal B delayed by a delay circuit 5 is fed to the selecting circuit 6. The side changeover signal E being supplied from the outside is fed as it is to an input terminal 2, and a changeover of the selecting circuit 6 is carried out by this side changeover signal E. That is, in case of the side changeover signal E being at its high level, the index signal A fed to the input terminal 1 is selected, whereas in case of the side changeover signal E being at its low level, the delay signal B as an output of the delay circuit 5 is selected. By this method, the initialization of a floppy disk can be speeded up.
