Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of an error at read/write to/from a recording medium by providing a correction circuit giving a voltage of a fluctuation making the distance between a lighting section and a collimator lens constant to a piezoelectric actuator in response to the result of detection by a temperature detection section.
CONSTITUTION: A barrel 23 is expanded or contracted due to temperature change. In this case, the temperature change of the barrel 23 is detected by a temperature detection section 24 and the voltage given to a piezoelectric actuator 30 is corrected by a correction circuit 31 in response to the result of detection and the distance between the lighting section 20 and the collimator lens 27 is kept constant by the operation of the piezoelectric actuator 30. Thus, the laser beam passing through the collimator lens 27 is always a collimated beam to prevent the error at read/write.
