Abstract
PURPOSE:To attain vibration isolation by providing an integrator, a memory, and an arithmetic unit force detecting the correlation between images, and providing a microcomputer to obtain a moving amount and a scanning signal generator to generate a scanning signal for an image pickup element corresponding to an output signal from the micro-computer. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with an image pickup means 101, an image signal compression means 104 which integrates two dimensional image signals for a length of one horizontal scanning period to compress them to one dimensional image signals, the image storing means 105, 106 to store thus generated one dimensional image signals, and a moving vector detection means 108 to detect the moving of an object from the correlation between an output signal from the means 104 and that from the means 106. Accordingly, the correlation function between images distant from each other in terms of time are obtained to detect the swinging of the image pickup device, and based on thus obtained swinging information, a scanning signal for the image pickup means is generated to attain the vibration isolation function. Furthermore, by the compression of two dimensional image signals to one dimensional image signals, the quantity of hardwares necessary for the correlation function arithmetic operation and its operating time can be reduced.
