Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to stably hold the supercooling state of a latent heat storage material by providing a moisture evaporation preventing film on the surface of the latent heat storage mateirial containing a hydrate salt filled in a heat storage tank as a main component. CONSTITUTION:A latent heat storage material 4 is prepared by mixing 1-2% of xanthane gum as a thikener in a trihydrate salt of sodium acetate, for example. A moisture evaporation preventive film 19 is applied on the surface of the latent heat storage material 4. As the film 19, paraffin or a high molecular film is suitable. When a switch 6 is closed to supply power to an electric heater 5, and the latent heat storage material 4 is heated up to a temperature higher than a phas variation temperature and thereafter is left standing, the heat storage material 4 is cooled by external air through a heat insulating tank 3 and radiates heat, but is put into a supercooled state and holds latent heat because the latent heat storage material 4 is kept at a temperature which is higher than a supercooling limit temperature. In this case, the major part of the surface of the heat storage material 4 is coated with a moisture evaporation preventive film 10, the moisture does not evaporate even if the airtightness of the heat storage tank 1 is deteriorated. Accordingly, the supercooled state of the heat storage material 4 is stably held.
