Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate the delivery of dense bed material and miniaturize the belt conveyer by disposing the belt conveyer between the feed opening under a combustor and the dense bed material storage area, and mixing the dense bed material with powder material, which mixture is then delivered to the feed opening by the belt conveyer. CONSTITUTION:Granular dense bed material such as alumina ball is mixed with powder material to form a mixture 27, and said mixture 27 is delivered to a supply pipe 11 by a belt conveyer 26. Alumina balls 29 are separated from the mixture 27, as needed, by means of a sifter 30, and only alumina balls 29 are supplied as the dense bed material 7 through a supply pipe 11 into the combustor 1. Therefore, even though the dense bed material is granular, the powder material acts as the retainer for the dense bed material to allow the same to be supported on the top of the belt conveyer 26, permitting the inclination of the belt conveyer 26 to be relatively greater. As a result, the belt conveyer can be miniaturized, and the manufacturing and operating costs can be reduced.
