Abstract

PURPOSE:To omit a medium dedicated to cleaning by setting up tracks '0'-m on the same medium as a data storage area and setting up tracks m+1-n (n>m) as a head cleaning area. CONSTITUTION:The total number of tracks on a floppy disk medium is defined as (n), the tracks '0'-m are set up as the data storage area 1 and the tracks m+1-n (n>m) is set up as the head cleaning area 2. In case of cleaning the head, used tracks among the (m+1)th track - the n-th track are specified to clean the head. Thereby, an ordinary disk dedicated to cleaning can be omitted and a part which can not be used as a data storage area can be also utilized for a cleaning area.
