被写体像を表示する電子式フアインダを備えたビ
デオカメラにおいて、面積の異なる複数の焦点検
出用ゾーンを設定可能とし、その１つの焦点検出
用ゾーンにより焦点検出をおこなうと共に、設定
された焦点検出用ゾーンによる焦点検出が可能か
否かを判定し、それが不可能と判定した際には前
記設定された焦点検出用ゾーンと面積が異なるゾ
ーンを再設定する焦点検出制御手段を備え、前記
焦点検出制御手段により設定された１つのゾーン
に対応する焦点検出エリアを表示する図形信号を
撮影中の被写体映像信号に重畳して電子式フアイ
ンダに出力する焦点検出エリア表示手段を備えて
