A conical support made of alumina with a top shape of about 1R was used to hold the bottom of the ceramic piece at three points, and the glaze was applied and fired.

There was a problem that it could not be reused. There was also the problem that alumina was easily coated with glaze, and the retained portions were likely to become defects.

It has excellent abrasion resistance, so even if the top shape is a sharp edge of about 0.5R, the top sometimes gets damaged due to seizure, and the top R is difficult to increase due to skewer wear, so it can be reused. Also, since it is difficult to apply the glaze, it is possible to prevent the holding part from becoming a drawback. Furthermore, it has excellent thermal shock resistance, so the baking temperature is 1200-140°C.
Although it reaches a high temperature of 0°C, it does not cause defects such as damage or cracks.
