Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a continuous heat pipe simply, by a method wherein an outer tube is formed previously through extrusion or drawing work into the shape obtained by splitting a tube into two parts along the axial direction thereof so as to obtain semi-circular sections while the joints of the outer tube, split into two parts, are welded axially after inserting an inner tube into the two split parts of the outer tube. CONSTITUTION:Split members 1a, 1b obtained in the shape of splitting an outer tube 1, formed with a through hole 6 for inserting an inner tube and having a circular section, are formed from an aluminum material through extrusion work while the insides of the split members 1a, 1b are mated to work a groove which becomes the through hole 6 later, thereafter, the inner tube 2 is inserted into the groove at the inside of two split members 1a, 1b and the split members 1a, 1b are mated, then, the seaming lines 5 are welded. Another groove 3 or the important part of a heat pipe is at the inside of the inner tube 2 and deterioration of performance, which is due to the welding, is not to be worried at all, therefore, a continuous double tube heat pipe, having a required length, may be obtained.

(Prior Art) Conventionally, a double-tube heat pipe has two inner tubes as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. Both the outer tube 1 and the outer tube 1 are formed in the same shape by extrusion processing of aluminum material, and the inner tube 2 is inserted into the outer tube 1 after performing necessary processing such as slits 4 from the outside. However, with this method, there is a limit to the length of processing to improve the fit between the outer surface of the inner tube and the inner surface of the outer tube, so long heat pipes cannot be made. Although it has the ability to transport, it has not been possible to utilize its characteristics effectively. In particular, it is relatively easy to realize a double heat pipe because the inner tube mainly requires machining of the outer surface, but the outer tube requires inner machining, which has been a hindrance to increasing the length.

(Means for solving the problem) A method for manufacturing a double-pipe heat pipe, which is formed by inserting into an outer tube whose inner surface is hollowed out, an inner tube having a groove formed on the inner surface and a slit penetrating the outer surface to the inner surface. In the process, the outer tube is cut in half in the axial direction into a semicircular cross-section by extrusion or drawing, and the inner tube is inserted.
A method of manufacturing a double-pipe heat pipe by welding the seam of the outer pipe in half in the axial direction.

The outer tube 1, which has a circular cross section and has a through hole 6 into which the inner tube is inserted, is divided into two parts 1a and 1b each having a semicircular cross section in the axial direction, and is extruded from an aluminum material. After processing the inner part of the tube 1 into a groove shape to form the through hole 6, two divided members 1a and lb are formed.
After inserting the inner tube 2 into the inner groove-shaped part and aligning the two divided members 1a and lb along the axial direction, the alignment line 5 is
to weld. The groove 3, which is an important part of the heat vibrator, is the inner tube 2.

There is no need to worry about performance deterioration due to welding, making it possible to create long double-tube heat pipes of the required length. It goes without saying that the divided members forming the outer tube may be formed by drawing.

Since the outer tube is formed by cutting it in half and welding it later, it is easy to process the inner surface of the outer tube and it can be made as long as necessary. Since it has the advantage of not being limited by processing conditions, it is possible to manufacture a long double-tube heat pipe that fully takes advantage of the advantages of the double-tube heat vibrator.
