Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the diameter of ejected ink particles to be changed freely by setting a nozzle plate to be freely attachable to/detachable from the tip of a case, thereby enabling the nozzle to be replaced easily. CONSTITUTION:If a piezoelectric element 8 oscillates, ink 13 enters an ejection tube 7 through a suction tube 11 and is ejected from a nozzle 10. A nozzle plate 9 is inserted into the internal surface 15 of the tip of a case, then is fitted tightly to the tip 14 of the ejection tube. A protrusion 15a is provided each on the upper and lower ends of the nozzle plate 9 on part of the internal surface 15 of the case tip. These protrusions fix the nozzle plate 9 and are of such a size as to slightly surpass a pressure generated by the oscillation of the piezoelectric element 8. If part of the nozzle plate 9 is pressed, it tilts and disengages itself from the other protrusion 15a, being ejected from the internal surface of the case tip, as a groove 15b is provided at the innermost side of the internal surface 15 of the case tip. This enables the nozzle plate 9 to be attached and detached easily. It is made possible to replace the nozzle plate 9 with one with a varying nozzle diameter, thus changing the diameter of ejected ink particles freely.

Figures 5 and 6 show conventional inkjet head units.
As shown in the figure. 1 is a nozzle that is generally made of glass,
2 is a piezoelectric element. 3 is an ink suction vibrator, and 4 is ink. 5 is a case. Vibration of the piezoelectric cord 2 causes ink 4t to be sucked in from the suction vibrator 3 and ejected from the nozzle ejection port 6.

The above object consists of a nozzle plate arranged so as to be in close contact with the tip of the case, and a substantially conical nozzle provided at approximately the center of the nozzle plate and at the same center as the tip of the case. This is achieved by making it detachable from the tip of the case.

11 is an ink suction pipe, 12 is a case, and 13 is ink. When the piezoelectric element 8 vibrates, the ink 13 passes through the suction pipe 11, enters the discharge pipe 7, and is ejected from the nozzle 10. The ejecting action is the same as the conventional product. In the recording head of the present invention, a nozzle plate 9 is provided at the tip 14 of the discharge tube, and the nozzle plate 9 is inserted into the inner surface 15 of the tip of the case.
4 so that it fits tightly. The fitting between the nozzle plate 9 and the inner surface 15 of the case tip is such that the opening size of the case tip inner surface 15 and the outer dimension of the nozzle plate 9 are the same size, so that they fit together without play. Furthermore, the nozzle plate 9 is fixed by providing protrusions 15 at a portion of the inner surface 15 of the case tip, one each on the upper and lower sides of the nozzle plate 9. The protrusion 15a has a small size that is only slightly affected by the vibrating pressure of the piezoelectric element 8. In addition, when removing the nozzle plate 9, by pushing a part of the nozzle plate 9, a groove 15b is provided on the back side of the inner surface 15 of the tip of the case, so the nozzle plate 9 tends to be removed from the other protrusion 15a as shown by the broken line. It protrudes from the inner surface 15 of the case tip. Therefore,
This is done so that the nozzle plate 9 can be easily attached and removed. In this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 3, a system is adopted in which each nozzle corresponds to a plurality of recording heads.

FIG. 4 showing another embodiment is one in which a plurality of nozzles are provided on one nozzle plate, and it is possible to obtain high accuracy in the spacing between each nozzle.

According to the present invention, it is possible to change to a nozzle plate 10 with a different ejection diameter of the nozzle 10, and there is an effect that the particle diameter of ejected ink particles can be freely changed.
