In the home, odors from toilets, kitchens, pets, cigarettes, etc. can cause discomfort, irritation, and headaches, especially since rooms are often kept closed when air conditioning systems are running. , countermeasures against these foul odors have become a major problem.

However, aromatic substances have a limited ability to remove odorous substances, and it is difficult to maintain a balance between aromas and odors.Furthermore, people have different tastes in the aromas of deodorants, and sometimes they are disgusting or offensive. It can be difficult to say that it is a deodorizing method suitable for boat fishing. The physical method (2) has been widely used for a long time, but in addition to the problems of requiring equipment and fluctuations in room temperature, the adsorption effect of bad odors and foreign odor components is not sustainable, and the saturated state If so, there is a problem in that it releases odor components.

It is extremely difficult to select substances that react effectively. Furthermore, care is required in handling the chemicals used, and the chemicals may deteriorate in the air, which is not ideal for -M. The biological deodorization method described in (2) is also not suitable for the purpose of removing odors in the atmosphere, requires equipment, and has the disadvantages of slow onset of effects. The current situation is that each has its advantages and disadvantages.

For example, a hydrophilic organic solvent such as water, an alcohol such as ethanol or methanol, or a ketone such as methyl ethyl ketone or acetone is added to the raw material plant mentioned above, and the deodorizing component is thermally extracted using a Soxhlet extractor or the like. . This extraction operation may be carried out using a mixed solvent of these hydrophilic organic solvents and water. The extract obtained in this way is used as a mixture or as a mixture. Note that the extraction is not performed in one step as described above, but as necessary, a hydrophobic organic solvent such as hexane, petroleum ether, etc. may be used to elute and remove the odor components of the raw material plant in advance. Alternatively, a steam distillation method may be used.

The mixture was extracted with water for 3 hours and concentrated to dryness. The resulting deodorizing component was adjusted to 9.5% with a phosphate buffer (0.1M) having a pH of 7.0. A 25% aqueous solution of glutaraldehyde was added thereto so that the glutaraldehyde content was 0.3% to obtain deodorants of Examples 1 to 4 in this order.

An aqueous hydrogen sulfide solution was prepared in a container that could be sealed tightly, a certain amount of each of the above methods was added, and the container was sealed. Thereafter, five panelists with a similar sense of smell were asked to smell the odor and evaluate the odor according to Table 1 below. The results are shown in Table 2.
