In general, this type of multi-cavity mold is, for example,
As shown in the figure, a structure is adopted in which a runner 4 is formed by upper and lower molds 1 and 2, a gate 5 branches from the runner 4, and a cavity 6 is provided at the tip of the gate 5. By the way, in multi-cavity plastic molding using this type of mold, the heated and melted molding material is injected from the nozzle 8 of the cylinder 7 to the sprue 3 of the upper mold 1.
It is molded by flowing through a runner such as the runner 4 and cooling and solidifying within a mold. FIG. 2 shows a molded product formed by the above mold, with A being a plan view thereof and B being a sectional view thereof. In these figures, reference numeral 4' indicates a runner section, 6' indicates a product, 5' indicates a gate section, and 3' indicates a sprue section. In this way, in multi-cavity plastic molding, the molded product is formed integrally with sprues, runners, gates, etc.
It is necessary to attach this molded product to a gate cutting jig and perform a so-called gate cut all at once to separate the products. The gate cutting jig used at this time has a structure that holds a part of the runner part 4' of the molded product and cuts between the gate part 5' and the product 6'. If there is deformation, the gate portion will be uneven, and the gate cutting marks left on the product will not be uniform. In particular, the runners of multi-cavity molds with the above-mentioned structure are long and large in diameter, so deformation of the runners due to shrinkage that occurs when the molding material cools and solidifies cannot be avoided. This is significant in the case of materials with high molding shrinkage, which has the disadvantage of increasing the number of man-hours required to finish the remaining gate portion. Conventionally, as a countermeasure to this problem, a method has been adopted in which the molded product is removed from the mold immediately after molding when the runner section is hot, and stored in a separate cooling jig to forcibly correct the deformation of the runner section. However, when such a method is adopted, there are disadvantages in that the number of steps and jigs increases.

The present invention was developed in view of these circumstances, and has an extremely simple structure in which a groove is formed along the longitudinal direction of the inner wall of the runner, thereby preventing deformation of the runner portion and reducing the number of man-hours required after molding. The present invention provides a mold for molding multiple pieces. The configuration will be explained in detail below with reference to embodiments shown in the drawings.

FIG. 3 is a longitudinal sectional side view showing an embodiment of a multi-cavity mold according to the present invention, FIG. 4a is a plan view similarly showing the molded product, and FIG. 4b is a sectional view. In these figures, what is indicated by numeral 1 is the upper mold of the mold;
2 is a lower mold, and by closing these upper and lower molds, a sprue 3, a runner 4, a gate 5, and a cavity 6 are formed in the mold, which is different from the conventional mold described above. It's not something that will change. A feature of the present invention is that a groove 9 is formed along the longitudinal direction of the inner wall of the runner 4 of the upper mold 1. This groove 9 faces the center of the runner 4 and is provided approximately at the center of the semicircular groove formed by the runner. Therefore, during molding, a rib 9' that has the strength to withstand the deformation of the runner part 4' is protruded. will be formed. Therefore, when the material is cooled and solidified, the runner portion of the molded product is reinforced by the ribs 9' along the longitudinal direction, and has a shape that is difficult to deform.

In addition, although the above explanation has shown an example in which the gate branches from a single runner, the present invention can be implemented similarly to a mold in which the runner further branches to the next runner and the gate branches from each runner. . FIG. 5 is a plan view of a molded product showing this embodiment. In this figure, since the runner is completely the same as the previous embodiment except that the runner is formed in a branched manner compared to the previous embodiment, the same members are given the same reference numerals and detailed explanation thereof will be omitted. Furthermore, in the embodiments of the present invention, an example has been described in which the cross-sectional shape of the runner is circular, but the runner may have a semicircular or trapezoidal shape, and the cross-sectional shape of the groove does not necessarily have to be trapezoidal. good.

As explained above, according to the present invention, by forming a groove along the longitudinal direction of the inner wall of the runner of the mold, which is an extremely simple structure, ribs are formed protruding from the runner part of the molded product to reinforce the groove. , deformation of the runner section can be prevented. Therefore, the irregularity of gates that occurs during gate cutting as in the conventional method is eliminated, and a cooling jig is not required, which has a significant effect on manufacturing costs.
