Conventionally, contacts such as electromagnetic relays in telephone exchanges were
As shown in FIG. 1, a tape having a cross-sectional shape having a contact surface 1 and a projection 2 for welding is formed from a contact material, and this tape is cut and used.
However, when this tape is simply cut, a burr 3 is formed on one of the cut surfaces as shown in FIG. 2, which causes chattering and increases contact resistance when used as a relay. For this purpose, a method is used in which the tape material is cut into two sides or a round contact is pulled out from a strip of contact material. However, these methods waste expensive contact materials containing gold, platinum, etc., and are uneconomical. Furthermore, when the tape material with linear projections formed thereon has good weldability when welded to its supporting material as a contact point,
Since both ends of the projection are not welded, the contact surface 1 becomes concave as shown in FIG. 3, which causes chattering and increased contact resistance, similar to the above-mentioned warp.
The present invention has been devised to remedy these drawbacks.

Therefore, in the contact manufacturing method of the present invention,
A die for projexion molding, a punch for projexion molding having a slope for pressing and removing the return of the cut portion of the contact that is processed at the same time as the projexion molding, and a notch provided at one end of the die. A die is provided with a cutting punch having a cutting edge facing the blade, the die is mounted on a press machine, and while the press machine is operated, a strip-shaped contact material is supplied, and the projector This method is characterized in that the steps of forming a projection using a die and a punch, simultaneously pressing away the burrs at the cut portion, and then cutting using a cutting punch are carried out in one stroke of the press.

FIG. 4 shows a perspective view of a mold for carrying out the manufacturing method of the present invention together with a contact material. To explain with the drawings, numeral 4 is a die, 5 is a punch for projection molding, and 6 is a punch for cutting. The die 4 has a conical recess (not shown) and a cutting edge 8 formed on its surface 7, and the punch 5 has a rod 9 having a conical protrusion for forming the protrusion. is inserted and fixed,
Also, the slope 1 for pressing and removing the return of the contact point.
0 is formed. The cutting punch 6 is formed separately from the projection forming punch 5, and has a cutting edge 11 formed at its tip. In the figure, reference numeral 12 is a contact material, 13 is a contact, and 14 is a contact supply finger.

Next, the method of the present invention using the mold thus formed will be explained with reference to FIGS. 5 to 7. First, the die 4 and punches 5 and 6 are attached to a press machine. Then, as shown in FIG. 5, the contact material 12 is placed on the die 4 so as to have a predetermined length l. Next, the projection forming punch 5 is lowered as shown in FIG. As a result, the contact material 12 has a die 4
A projection 16 is formed by the recess and the protrusion of the punch 5. At the same time, the burrs 15 of the contact material 12 are pressed and removed by the slope 10 of the punch. Next, as shown in FIG. 7, when the cutting punch 6 is lowered, the contact material 12 is cut by its cutting edge 11 and the cutting edge 8 of the die. In this case, the cut portion of the contact 17 will sag and curling will occur in the contact material 12. The contact 17 thus formed is the eighth
As shown in the perspective view of the figure and the sectional view of FIG. 9, the contact surface 18 is not curved, and a conical projection 19 is formed on the lower surface.

As explained above, the method for manufacturing a contact according to the present invention allows the contact to be formed in one stroke of a press machine, and is economical since no material is wasted. Furthermore, since the projection can be made into a round shape, there is no deformation after welding, making it possible to prevent chattering and an increase in contact resistance.
