Traditionally, stop lines, pedestrian crossings, median strips, etc. on roads have been indicated by painted lines, but this display can be difficult to see at night, especially in the rain, and can be difficult to see when driving. As a result, the display lines tend to wear out, so recently, light-emitting displays have been increasingly used to measure traffic safety.

Until now, examples of using light-emitting indicators include a known example 1 (Utility Model Application Publication No. 49-74192) in which a large number of flashing lights were buried on both sides of a crosswalk or on one side of the pedestrian crossing; Known example 2 (Utility Model Application Publication No. 55-81110), which combines the two methods, has been proposed.

However, although Known Example 1 is practical in terms of brightness, since it uses a light bulb as a light source, the life of the light bulb is short, requiring frequent maintenance and inspection, and it also generates a large amount of heat and does not have a waterproof structure. Due to the necessity and the addition of mechanical stress such as vibration and load, the light emitting body is structurally large and expensive, and furthermore, it has drawbacks such as a small light emitting area. In addition, when the known example 1 is buried in the road pavement surface, it cannot be buried flush with the pavement surface structurally, so it has to be installed so that it protrudes from the road surface, which causes unpleasant vibration noise to the vehicle and hinders the running of the vehicle. Due to the hardness and wear rate of the pavement,
Differences in level appeared during use, and urgent improvements were requested for traffic safety reasons.

Known example 2 uses an optical fiber to optically couple the light source to the light emitting part and emit light, but the amount of light emitted and the light emitting surface area are determined by the cross-sectional area of the optical fiber and the number of fibers used, so it is not practical. Obtaining the same amount of light emitting area and brightness was technically and economically difficult.

The reflector 4 is approximately cylindrical and has a fixing claw 4 at one end.
It has a structure that can be fixed to the substrate 1 and has good assembly workability, and in order to reflect light over the entire surface, the reflective surface can be provided with a surface layer with a high reflectance, such as a plating layer or a coating layer, or the color tone of the material can be adjusted. It has improved reflection efficiency, and is fitted and connected to the light emitting diode 2 and the transparent body 5, respectively. The light-transmitting body 5 easily guides light in one direction, and the light-receiving part 5b has a flat or concave shape, and is made of a transparent material such as acrylic resin, epoxy resin, polyester resin, polycarbonate resin, or glass. In addition to the one that fits above the reflector 4 as shown in the figure, a cylindrical one with a lid that covers the front and surrounding area of the reflector 4 as shown in FIG. 3 may be used. In other words, with the shape of the light-transmitting body 5 shown in Fig. 3, even if a heavy load is applied during use as a light-emitting display, load stress will not be applied directly to the light-emitting diode 2, so it can be buried in the pavement surface on which vehicles etc. drive. is sufficiently durable for practical use, and in applications where it wears out, the length can be adjusted to match the amount of wear. Next, FIG. 4 shows the light emitting unit 6 explained in FIG. This figure shows a light-emitting display body 8 that is embedded and integrated by casting with mortar or the like.

The configuration of this embodiment has been described in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 4, and its effects will be further described as follows. In Figures 1 and 2, the structure is such that the electrode parts 1b at both ends of the board 1 are electrically and mechanically connected to the electrode/reinforcement mount 3, so that the electrode/reinforcement mount 3 is connected to the electrode/reinforcement mount 3 for power supply. The composite material 7 shown in FIG.
Light-emitting display body 8 when the light-emitting unit 6 is embedded inside
It also serves as a power supply and fixed mounting bracket when the light-emitting display body 8 is installed on road pavement, side walls, etc. Unlike a light bulb, the light emitting diode 2 does not generate heat when emitting light, so there is no need for a heat-resistant structure around it, and its small size allows for a thin structure, and its lifespan is 10%.
Since it can be used for about 10,000 hours, no maintenance or inspection is required.

In this way, the reflector 4 is fitted and bonded to a plurality of high-brightness light emitting diodes 2 with transparent sealing resin, and the light-transmitting body 5 is then fitted and bonded to the reflector 4, or the light-transmitting body 5 is fitted in advance. The composite material 7 is formed by fitting and bonding the reflector 4 and the light emitting diode.
By embedding the light source in a surface, it exhibits the performance of surface emitting light, and the brightness of the light source is sufficient for practical use considering that it is used as a traffic sign at night. When the light-transmitting body 5 is installed on the side wall of a road or a traffic sign where the light-emitting display body 8 will not wear out, the light-emitting surface may be made semispherical to disperse the light emission, or it may be cylindrical or angular. It may also have a bent structure at the tip. As is clear from the structure shown in Fig. 4, the light-emitting display body 8 is buried in the composite material 7, so there is no need for a special waterproof structure, and the strength of the composite material 7 can withstand the load and vibration stress. By embedding the light-emitting surface flush with the surface, it does not cause unpleasant vibrations or noise to traveling vehicles, and by selecting a material that wears out in the same way as the paved surface, the composite material 7 can be used for a long time. Since there are no steps, traffic safety can be ensured.

Furthermore, since the light-emitting surface 5c is not perpendicular to the optical axis E but is inclined, the light emitted from the light-emitting diode 2 may enter the transparent body 5 directly or be reflected on the reflector 4 and then transmitted. Some of the light enters the light body 5, but when it exits from the light body 5, it is refracted to the left as shown in the figure due to the difference in refractive index between the light body 5 and air. By providing directivity in only one direction in this manner, when the light emitting display body 8 shown in FIG. 4 is viewed diagonally from the front, it has a large amount of light energy and can be easily detected from a distance as a marker. In addition, since the light emitting diode 2 is arranged at an angle, the thickness of the light emitting display 8 can be made thinner, and there is no problem with building installation regulations when installing it, and it is also resistant to load stress when buried in the road surface. ,
Since no direct load is applied to the light emitting diode 2, it is also excellent in terms of durability and life.

FIG. 5 shows a light-emitting display 8 of the present invention installed on a side wall B of a curve of a road to serve as a line-of-sight guide sign. Since the car advances at an acute angle to the surface of the side wall part B of the curve, the light emitted from the light emitting display 8 at an acute angle can be easily detected from a distance, and exhibits an excellent effect as a sign.

Since the present invention is constructed as described above, the light emitting display body can be widely used for various purposes,
When used as a light-emitting display device, it not only fully fulfills the road display function, but since a light-emitting diode is used as the light source, it has a long lifespan and eliminates the need for maintenance and inspection.
Since no heat is generated when emitting light, there is no need for a heat-resistant structure.Since the light-emitting unit is buried in a composite material, it is waterproof and can withstand mechanical vibrations, shocks, loads, etc., and by selecting a composite material, it can be easily attached to a paved surface. Even if it is buried flush and used, it will wear out in the same way as pavement, so it will not protrude from the road surface and cause vibration noise to the vehicle, making it excellent in terms of safety. Due to its structure with the body, the brightness as a display performance is low.Even with low power consumption, it is bright as a large surface light source.By embedding the light-transmitting body with a composite material so that the light-emitting surface of the light-transmitting body is inclined to the optical axis and appears on the surface, the composite material It has many advantages, such as good embedding workability, excellent luminescent display strength, and is particularly effective as a sign.
