Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent bad effects of an antistatic agent on inks and obtain a polyolefin sheet capable of being clearly offset-printed with favorable adhesion of the inks thereto without requiring a treatment with an anchoring agent, by incorporating the antistatic agent together with a low molecular weight acrylic or methacrylic acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:An antistatic agent may be, for example, an amine compound such as an alkyldiethanolamine or a partial ester, such as monoester or diester, of a polyhydric alcohol with a fatty acid, which is conventionally used for polyolefin sheets. A low molecular weight acrylic or methacrylic acid derivative is preferably the one having a molecular weight of up to about 200, and may be, for example, glycidyl methacrylate, 2,2-bis[4-acryloxydiethoxy)phenyl]propane or polyethylene glycol diacrylate. By incorporating such a compound together with the antistatic agent, it is possible to prevent bad effects of the antistatic agent on offset-printing inks, particularly, UV-curable type inks.

"Prior Art" Polyolefin sheets (hereinafter simply referred to as sheets) have poor printing suitability compared to other resin sheets, so various efforts have been made to improve the resin composition of the sheet, the ink itself, the printing method, etc., but none have been satisfactory. There are not many kimonos.

Polyolefin sheets, in particular, are easily charged with static electricity, making it difficult to feed two sheets during the printing process and to separate each sheet before and after printing. Contains anti-static agent. As antistatic agents, amine compounds and fatty acid ester compounds of polyhydric alcohols are commonly used in combination. However, the antistatic agent hinders the curing of ink for off-print printing, especially ultraviolet curable ink, and often causes insufficient adhesion strength of the ink and defects such as scumming on the printed surface. In particular, offset printing could not be used at all for printing transparent sheets with smooth surfaces. In order to correct the cracking defects, a mono- or polyacrylate compound or a methacrylate compound (both have a molecular weight of less than about 500), commonly known as an anchor agent, is applied to the sheet in advance, and the antistatic agent is offset. Attempts have been made to alleviate the negative effects on printing ink.

"Problems to be Solved by the Invention" As mentioned above, in offset printing of a sheet containing an antistatic agent, it is necessary to apply an anchor agent to the printing surface of the sheet in advance. However, in many cases, it is not possible to obtain clear printed matter, and in particular, offset printing cannot be performed at all on transparent sheets with smooth surfaces. Therefore, the printing of the sheets was mainly based on time-consuming screen printing. E7 or screen printing is 1
It is difficult to perform multicolor printing in one go, and in the case of multicolor printing, printing must be performed for each color, which takes time and increases costs. On the other hand, offset printing allows multi-color printing and saves time and cost, but the application of anchoring agents in the prior art is time-consuming and does not produce the desired effect.

sheet. Since the sheet is usually printed on only one side, in that case, the unprinted side is fully or partially embossed with embossing force such as Loe to prevent double sheet feeding during printing and to prevent the front and back of printing. This is more effective in separating each sheet.

"Function" Since the inventive sheet contains the compound of the present invention together with an antistatic agent, it prevents the antistatic agent from having an adverse effect on offset printing inks, particularly ultraviolet curable inks. Therefore, even if the sheet contains an antistatic agent, it exhibits suitability for offset printing, and exhibits an excellent effect in that there is no need to perform anchoring agent treatment before printing. It is particularly effective when printing transparent sheets with smooth surfaces, and allows clear printing without defects such as insufficient ink adhesive strength or scumming. In addition, in offset printing that leaves a large amount of transparent parts, it is necessary to increase the transparency of the transparent parts that are not printed, so a polyhydric alcohol fatty acid ester antistatic agent is mainly used, and a small amount of amine (containing 40 wt% or less of the antistatic agent composition) is used. If the total amount of antistatic agent is small at this time, it is preferable to subject both sides of the sheet to corona discharge treatment to increase the antistatic effect, as described above.
