Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to mass-produce stabilizers and to prevent the strength thereof from lowering, by fitting a cylinder for welding a stabilizer to a suspension device and for increasing the wall thickness of each end thereof, to each end of a pipe material and by caulking it to secure it to the pipe material. CONSTITUTION:An end part wall thickness increasing cylinder 5 which is required for weldment to a suspension is fitted in each end of a cold-drawn pipe material 4 as shown by 4a, and is caulked to be secured to the pipe material to form a stabilizer 3. Further, a suspension arm 1 is welded to the part of the end part wall thickness increasing cylinder 5 of the stabilizer 3. With this arrangement, it is possible to mass-produce the stabilizers 3 without lowering the strength thereof.

The stabilizer 3 according to the present invention has an external appearance shown in FIG.
As shown in the figure, there is a pipe material 4 formed to have a wall thickness of about 2 to 3 m/m by cold drawing, for example, and a thickened end portion that is fixed to both ends of the pipe material 4 by caulking. It consists of cylinder bodies 5, 5.

As shown in an enlarged cross section in Fig. 3, the thickening cylinder 5.5 has a wall thickness t (5 m/
m), and the outer shape is cut to a predetermined size, and approximately half of the inner circumference in the axial direction corresponds to the end 4A of the pipe material 4.
It is formed in a large diameter portion 5A having an inner diameter that can be fitted into the large diameter portion 5A.

Thickening cylinders 5 are attached to the ends 4Δ and 4A of the pipe material 4.
, 5, and the outer periphery of the thickening cylinder 5 is held by the holder 6 as illustrated in FIG. 4 (△) and <B). The core metal 7 is press-fitted in the direction of the arrow inside 4Δ, and the outer periphery of the end 4A of the pipe material 4 is attached to the thickening cylinder 5.
It is pressed against the inner periphery of the large diameter portion 5△ and is caulked. For this caulking, the outer circumferential surface of the end portion 4A of the pipe material 4 or the inner circumferential surface of the large diameter portion 5Δ of the thickening cylinder 5 is formed by knurling, a group of uneven grooves, or an uneven groove 8 such as a spiral groove. are formed so that they can be more reliably and firmly integrated when caulked.

The stabilizer 3 configured as described above is welded to the eggplant pension in the same manner as in the past, but the welding is performed by attaching a thickening cylinder to the end 4A of the pipe material 4 as shown in FIG. Since the suspension arm 1 is welded to the 5 portion, the heat due to welding does not directly reach the pipe material 4, and the strength of the pipe material 4 does not deteriorate. In addition, since the vibrator material 4 itself can be formed by cold drawing and the thickening cylinders 5.5 can be cold-tightened and integrated with the ends 4A, 4A, productivity is high and the number of man-hours is reduced. I'll try it.

As explained above, in the automobile stabilizer according to the present invention, end thickening cylinders having a wall thickness necessary for welding to the suspension are fitted to both ends of a pipe material, and the fitting portions of the two are pressed together. Since the structure is crimped and crimped, there is no strength deterioration due to heat unlike in the case of thickening by conventional hot processing, and by using a material formed by cold drawing for the pipe material, work hardening is achieved. Therefore, even a stabilizer made of vibrator material can have sufficient strength. Furthermore, since no hot treatment or heat treatment is required, productivity is excellent, and a lightweight and inexpensive stabilizer can be provided.
