である耐蝕性及び施工性がすぐれているが、可燃
性のため火災時に燃えて有毒ガスを発生する欠点
がある。又これに耐火性を持たすために例えば耐
火被覆が考えられるが加工が繁雑であつた。アル
ミニウム管は耐久性はあるが高価で加工性が悪く
また内部に発錆、水垢の付着を起し易くさらに外
面に結露を生ずる欠点がある。さらに上記の仕切
管をエルボ、Y形管等の曲管と接続する場合に、
該管が押出材で出来ているため突合せ型式とな
る。このため接続部にパイプを外嵌しても、接続
部の曲げ強度が不足する欠点がある。
