本考案は竪型マシニングセンターにおける自動
工具交換装置に関するもので、工具交換アームな
しに主軸で直接交換ができ、かつ作業中は切粉等
からの汚染が全くない、作動の簡単でワークとの
干渉なしに交換可能な信頼性の高い簡略化された

工具マガジン本体10は、コラム胴部へ収納さ
れており、側面図でみて、右方すなわち背面にマ
ガジンカバー11がやや突出しているのを除き、
工具マガジン本体の存在は外部から認識できない
ように、完全収納型になつている。工具マガジン
本体10の構造は、第3図にみられるように、コ
ラム胴部開口部8内に設けたマガジン摺動レール
12上を、エアシリンダー13でY軸方向へ前後
動可能に設置した摺動ベース14に水平面内で回
動するエンドレスで多数の工具把持爪15を配列
し、これに工具ホルダー16をテーパー部を上に
して支持したものである。この工具マガジン本体
が前進した位置は、先端の工具ホルダー16が主
軸2の軸芯に正しく一致して停止するので、主軸
の下降で直接的に工具の着脱ができる位置であ
り、後退した位置は主軸2よりDだけ後方で、第
2図、第3図から明らかなように、コラム前面に
設けた開閉扉9内に収容される位置である。した
がつて、開閉扉9を閉じると、主軸2からマガジ
ン本体が完全に隔離され、切粉や切削油によるマ

ーコストで、高性能かつデザイン的にも優れた竪
