A combustion wick for an kerosene stove is made into a band-shaped wick by weaving or knitting, for example, having a continuous structure including a combustion part, an oil suction part, and a skirt part.
This strip-shaped core was cut to a predetermined length, then rolled into a cylindrical shape and joined together, and the joints were pressed firmly by hand and sewn one by one using a sewing machine to form a combustion wick of the required diameter. .

The present invention was devised in view of the above-mentioned circumstances, and its purpose is to create an oil-absorbing, non-combustible, and flame-retardant reinforcing tape without sewing the joints of the strip-shaped core. To provide a combustion wick which can be obtained extremely simply and at low cost by integrating the combustion wick.

The embodiment of the present invention shown in the drawings will now be described in detail. In FIG. 1, the combustion wick is generally designated by the reference numeral 1. In this example, the combustion wick 1 is composed of a combustion section 2, an oil suction section 3, and a skirt section 4. A reinforcing tape 5 made of reinforcing paper or cloth is integrally attached to the outer peripheral surface of the oil suction part 3. The combustion wick 1 is made of a belt-shaped core 1a woven or knitted as usual, and the core 1a is rolled into a cylindrical shape and its edges are joined. A reinforcing tape 7 is integrally attached to the inner peripheral surface of the joint part 6 so as to straddle the joint part 6. Furthermore, a reinforcing tape 8 is integrally attached to the outer circumferential surface of the reinforcing tape 5, spanning the joint portion thereof. Such a reinforcing tape may be, for example, glass fiber paper, non-woven fabric, non-flammable paper, or any other similar non-flammable and oil-absorbing material. The reinforcing tapes 7 and 8 are pasted across the entire length of the joint of the core body 1a.

Although the reinforcing tape 7 is attached to the entire inner peripheral surface of the core 1a, and the reinforcing tape 8 is partially attached to the outer peripheral surface of the joint portion of the core 1a, these relationships can be reversed. Moreover, by attaching the reinforcing tape 7 to the entire circumferential surface of the core body, it also serves as a reinforcing effect for the core body 1a itself.

In each of the above embodiments, the reinforcing tape was attached to the inner and outer circumferential surfaces of the core, but in some cases it may be attached only to either the inner or outer circumferential surface.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the reinforcing tape 5 is attached to the inner circumferential surface of the joint portion of the core body 1a and the outer circumferential surface of the joint portion of the reinforcing tape 5 over its entire length.

Since the present invention has the configuration described above, all that is required is to roll the belt-shaped core body into a cylindrical shape and straddle the edge joints of the core body and attach reinforcing tape to the inner and outer circumferential surfaces to integrate the core body. There is no need to use a sewing machine to sew each joint as in the past. Therefore, the joining work is extremely simplified without requiring any skill, which is a factor in reducing costs. Furthermore, since the reinforcing tape is nonflammable, flame retardant, and oil-absorbing, it will not be burned out even if the wick burns, or it will not interfere with oil wicking. Furthermore, since the reinforcing tape is integrally bonded to the core in a sandwich-like pattern, the reinforcing effect of the core is improved, and the core does not bend when the combustion wick moves up and down. ,
This has the effect of having a strong back and being able to move quickly and smoothly in a normal state.
