(Prior art) The inventor of the present application previously published Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-17923 (Japanese Patent Publication No. 59-17923)
No. 55-65501), he invented a processing device for raw veneer, but this equipment requires a separate horizontal stripping device and a wicket dryer for the raw veneer, resulting in high equipment costs. It is necessary to firmly bond the raw veneer to the wicket dryer, and since the raw veneer is horizontally spliced using yarn and hot melt adhesive, the surface of the veneer must be firmly bonded. This method had disadvantages such as high running costs as it required an expensive hot-melt adhesive with a high melting point that could withstand heating and drying.

(Structure of the Invention) In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention forms a sliding conveyance path for the veneer on the arm of the wicket conveyor, and carries small width raw veneers into the conveyance path by means of a carrying device. When the veneers are fed one after another to form abutting veneers with their end surfaces in contact with each other in the clamping conveyance path, and the adhesive is applied to the end faces of the narrow raw veneers, the abutting veneers will pass through the wicket dryer. When rotating, the adhesive hardens and a dried side-splitting veneer is obtained. If adhesive is not applied to the end surface, threads are pasted to the surface of the butting veneer on the lower side of the unloading device. The structure is such that horizontally spliced veneer can be obtained.

Each arm body 5 has a U-shape, and the parallel portion of the U-shape has a length that can accommodate the green veneer A extending outward from the endless band 4. Then, over a plurality of pieces (three pieces in the embodiment) protruding from each endless band 4 in the same phase, and on the inside of the parallel part of each arm body 5 in a direction substantially perpendicular to its length direction.
That is, in the direction almost parallel to the axis of the shaft 2 of the wicket conveyor 1, there are a plurality of upper and lower rollers (in the embodiment, there are three rollers each).
In this method, elongated bars 10, 10' are attached, and a holding conveyance path is formed in which the green veneer A can freely slide in the longitudinal direction of the plurality of upper and lower bars 10, 10'. In this case, for example, by attaching the upper bar 10 to the inside of the parallel portion of the arm body 5 via an elastic body 11 such as a spring, it is possible to ensure smooth sliding of the green veneer A on the clamping conveyance path. In the embodiment, the upper and lower bars 10, 10' are formed of a single piece, but the same effect can be achieved by using a piece that is divided into a plurality of pieces in the longitudinal direction.

The carrying device 12 is disposed near the starting end of the ascending path P of the wicket conveyor 1, and conveys the narrow raw veneer A in a direction perpendicular to the fibers of the raw veneer A to the top and bottom of the stopped arm 5. The bars 10, 10' are sequentially fed into the clamping conveyance path formed by the bars 10, 10' in the longitudinal direction, and the abutting veneer B is formed in the clamping conveyance path, with the end faces of each other in contact with each other. It is something that For example, as shown in FIG. 3, the carrying-in device 12 is formed by an upper conveyor 13 and a lower conveyor 14 that forcibly feed a narrow raw veneer A in a direction perpendicular to the fibers of the raw veneer A. While aligning the holding path formed by the upper and lower bars 10, 10' of the stopped arm 5,
The lower end portion 14' of the upper conveyor 13 in the conveying direction is located near the starting end of the conveying path between the upper and lower bars 10, 10', and the lower end portion 13' of the upper conveyor 13 in the conveying direction is also located on the lower conveyor 14. The upper and lower conveyors 13 and 14 sequentially feed the small width raw veneer A into the clamping conveyance path of the upper and lower bars 10 and 10'. In this case, the clamping conveyance path formed by the upper and lower bars 10 and 10' forms a running path on which the veneer can slide freely, so the narrow raw veneer A fed into the clamping conveyance path has an appropriate frictional resistance on the clamping conveyance path. As a result, the rear end of the upper and lower conveyors 13 and 14 stops almost at the position where the feeding force disappears, and the next narrow width of raw veneer A is placed at the rear end of this stopped front raw veneer. They collided with each other, and the end surfaces of each other came into contact with each other, pushing it forward, and the rear ends were similarly connected to the upper and lower conveyors 1
It stops almost at the position where the feeding force disappears at points 3 and 14. Repeat this until the upper and lower bars 10, 1
In the clamping and conveying path 0', abutting veneer B is formed in which the end surfaces of a plurality of small-width green veneers A are in contact with each other. Note that if the plurality of small width raw veneers A are cut in advance into a length that corresponds to the effective length in the longitudinal direction of the upper and lower bars 10, 10', the filling efficiency of the veneers into the arm body 5 can be increased. In addition, when the arm body 5 is moved one pitch after feeding a plurality of small width raw veneers A, it is possible to make one abutting veneer B of a predetermined size. For example, the end portion 1 of the upper conveyor 13 is
3' is provided so as to be able to move forward and backward between the forward position shown by the solid line in the figure (the position when feeding the green veneer) and the backward position shown by the dotted line (the position when moving the arm body).

After feeding one group of small width raw veneers A to one set of arms 5, the arms 5 are moved by one pitch. A veneer detector is provided to detect the last raw veneer of the raw veneers, and the driving mechanism 6 is activated by the signal thereof, or if an integrating cutting machine is provided on the upper side of the carry-in device 12, the drive mechanism 6 is activated by the fixed-size cutting signal. This is done by operating. In this way, the abutment veneer B formed by feeding the raw veneer A with a small width into each arm body 5 in turn is attached to the upper and lower bars 10, 1.
0' and moves through the ascending path P, descending path Q, etc., the hot air from the hot air circulation mechanism 8 acts to dry the material. In this case, since the abutting veneer B is held between the upper and lower bars 10, 10',
The raw veneer A of each width is transported stably without falling apart during the movement, and the veneer A is well-dryed to a flat finish by preventing cracks and undulations caused by drying. It is.

The unloading device 15 is disposed near the end of the descending path Q of the wicket conveyor 1, and transports the dried abutted veneer B from the conveying path between the upper and lower bars 10, 10' of the arm body 5 with its fibers. It is provided so that it can be pushed and fed in orthogonal directions.
For example, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4, the unloading device 15 is formed of an extrusion plate 16 and a fluid pressure cylinder 18 that fixes the extrusion plate to a rod 17 and moves it back and forth.
The extrusion plate 16 is moved forward and backward by the operation of the fluid pressure cylinder 18 so as to match the clamping conveyance path of the upper and lower bars 10, 10' of the stopped arm body 5, and one end of the abutting veneer B is pushed out to abut. The veneer B is sent out from the clamping conveyance path. The feeding operation of the abutting veneer B by the fluid pressure cylinder 18 is performed, for example, on the descending path Q.
A veneer detector (not shown) is provided to detect the abutting veneer B coming down at an appropriate position, and the detection is performed based on a signal from the veneer detector (not shown). The abutting veneer B sent out from the arm body 5 is received by a carry-out conveyor 19 provided on the sending side, and carried out to the next process. The carry-out conveyor 19 is formed by, for example, a pair of upper and lower endless conveyors, and is provided so as to be able to move forward and backward at the positions indicated by solid lines and dotted lines as shown in FIG. The device is configured to move to the forward position shown by the dotted line when receiving the information.

When a raw veneer A of a width cloth is coated with adhesive on its end face and sent to the clamping conveyance path of the arm body 5 by the carrying-in device 12, a gluing means 20 is provided on the upper side of the carrying-in device 12, An adhesive that can bond the green veneers and hardens rapidly when heated, such as an adhesive whose main component is a modified amino resin, is applied to the end surface of the green veneer A that will be in contact with the green veneer A. The gluing means 20 includes, for example, an applicator plate 21 and an applicator plate 2 supported by a spring body and provided so as to be freely retractable from the conveying surface of the lower conveyor 14.
1, an on-off valve 2 that controls the adhesive dripping from the nozzle 22;
3. It consists of a pipe 25 that connects the on-off valve 23 and the glue tank 24, and a veneer detector (not shown) is installed on the upper side of the coating plate 21 to detect the raw veneer A in a small width. The on-off valve 23 is controlled based on the detection signal, and an appropriate amount of adhesive is applied to the coating plate 21 from the nozzle 22.
When a small raw veneer A passes the position of the application board 21, it moves forward while pushing it down, and its front end scrapes off the adhesive on the application board 21, and the adhesive is deposited on the end surface. Configure to be applied. The small raw veneer A whose front end face is coated with adhesive collides with the rear end face of the front raw veneer A stopped in the upper and lower bars 10, 10' by the carrying device 12, and is separated from each other. An abutting veneer B is formed in which the end surfaces abut and an adhesive is interposed between the end surfaces. The abutting veneer B held between the upper and lower bars 10, 10' is heated while being moved through the wicket dryer 9, and is dried, and the adhesive hardens to form the joined veneer B. A stripped veneer is formed, and in this case, the butting veneer B is held between the upper and lower bars 10, 10'.
A good side-splitting veneer can be obtained without each width of raw veneer A falling apart before the adhesive hardens.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention includes a plurality of vertical elongated bars attached to the arms of the wicket conveyor constituting the wicket dryer to form a gripping and conveying path in which the veneer can slide freely. Equipped with a carrying device that sequentially feeds narrow raw veneers into this clamping conveyance path in a direction perpendicular to the fibers, forming an abutted veneer in which the end surfaces of the narrow width raw veneers are in contact with each other in the clamping conveyance path. Because of its structure, the arms of the wicket conveyor can also serve as the end-face abutment for horizontal stripping, resulting in lower equipment costs and running costs compared to conventional equipment that performs horizontal stripping of narrow raw veneers. Since the abutting veneers with their end faces in contact are held in a direction perpendicular to the fibers by the upper and lower bars of the arms, the wicket dryer will prevent the veneers from falling apart during drying. It is possible to stabilize the unstable transport of narrow veneer sheets, which is a drawback of wicket dryers, without causing cracks, rippling, or waving. Since the configuration is such that the widthwise raw veneer is fed into the clamping conveyance path of the arms and the abutting veneer is sent out from the clamping conveyance path, it is possible to form abutted veneer with the end surfaces in contact from the narrowwise raw veneer. and its delivery can be carried out as a series of processes, and a means for applying adhesive to the end face of the veneer veneer is provided on the upper side of the carrying-in device, or when the adhesive is not applied to the end face, a means is provided on the lower side of the carrying-out device. By adding thread pasting means for pasting a plurality of threads in a direction perpendicular to the fibers to the surface of the butt veneer, it is possible to easily obtain a horizontally spun veneer. Since the drying of the veneer is carried out using a wicket dryer, it has many advantages such as a large saving in land and energy, and makes a great contribution to the plywood industry.
