Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to send for sure position detection signal to the main body of an air conditioner regardless of the direction in which a device is positioned by providing a LED for transmission which has uniform light emission intensity in every direction and a cover which covers the LED and is made of a transparent material. CONSTITUTION:A wireless type remote control device 22 is provided with a LED for transmission which is uniform in every direction in its light emission intensity and a cover which covers the LED and is made of a transparent material. Accordingly when this device 22 is used for transmission of signal, the light signal emits uniform intensity in every direction. With this arrangement a light receiving section of the main body 21 of an air conditioner confirms that the light intensity of direct light from the wireless type remote control device 22 is strongest. Furthermore, it judges that the wireless type remote control device 22 is in the direction of the direct light, making it possible to conduct exact position detection.
