支持して前記排気出口に臨ましめて成り、真空ポ
ンプの排気量の変動に応じて、蓋体及びピストン
が変位して、消音室の容量及び排気出口の開口量
を自動調節しうるように構成した点にある。以

形状の平面をなしている。消音室1の内壁面2に
は、内壁面2と一体的に支腕4が突設され、該支
腕4の端部4aに、流出口1bの中心を通るロツ
ド5の一端5aが固着されている。前記蓋体6
は、その中央部を貫通する状態で設けられた筒状
ガイド6aが、ロツド5に摺動自在に外嵌し、且
つロツド5の他端5bに止着した圧縮バネ固定用
ナツト8と蓋体6との間に設けた圧縮バネ7の弾
撥力によつて付勢されることにより、前記排気出
口の周縁部9と同様のリング形状の平面をなす蓋
体の端縁部10が、該周縁部9に圧接して、排気
出口の開口面を閉塞している。蓋体6の内部に
は、前記ロツド5に摺動可能に嵌着し、且つその
外周面12aが蓋体6の円筒状内周面に摺接する
ピストン12が設けられており、筒状ガイド6a
に外嵌する状態でピストンと蓋体内面との間に介
装した圧縮バネ11により、弾撥的に支持して、
支腕の端部4aに圧接させて、排気出口1bに臨
ませることにより、消音室空間を規定して成るも
のである。上記の構成において本考案の消音器を
真空ポンプの排気口に螺着し、真空ポンプを駆動
させ排気口より空気を排出すると、排気口から排
出された空気は、排気入口1aから消音室1内に
入りその排気圧により、ピストン12をバネ11
の弾撥力に抗して押し上げると共に、更に蓋体6
を圧縮バネ7の弾撥力に抗して押し上げることに

定して高い消音効果が得られる。又、蓋体6内の
ピストン12もバネ11により支腕端部4aに圧
接係止されているので、排気量の急激な変化や脈
動をピストン12の変位により吸収し、蓋体6の
変位を安定させるため、より安定した消音効果が
得られる。上述の実施例では、蓋体の端縁部10
と排気出口の周縁部9とを、同一径のリング形状
としているが第3図に示すように、いづれか一方
の外径を他よりも大きく形成しておくことによ
り、両者の間隙Aから流出する高速空気流が、示
矢方向即ち大外径を有する側に曲がる。従つてこ
の空気流を発熱体である真空ポンプの冷却に利用
