Abstract

PURPOSE:To decrease an installation area in the ceiling built-in type air conditioning apparatus by making a part of an auxiliary drain pan recessed toward the inner direction, and by installing a drain pump in the recessed part. CONSTITUTION:The drained water dropping from heat exchangers 14, 15 is dropped and collected in a main drain pan 33 and an auxiliary drain pan 34. As those drain pans 33, 34 are shallow on their left sides and designed to become deeper toward the recessed part 36 on their right sides, the drained water runs toward the right side to gather in the recessed part 36, and then be sucked and exhausted by a drain pump 37 installed on the recessed part 36. By this constitution, decrease of installation area as against the size of the unit can be realized.

(c) Problems to be solved by the invention In such an air conditioner, since the drain pump is attached to the outer surface of the main body, there is a space between the main body and the opening in the ceiling surface into which the main body is fitted. It was necessary to create a gap that would allow for service and inspection of the drain pump. For this reason, the opening in the ceiling surface is large compared to the size of the main body, and there is a risk that the installation area of the air conditioner will become large.

Therefore, the drain water dripping from both the left and right heat exchangers 14.15 goes to the main dew pan 33, and the drain water dripping from the left and right U-shaped pipes of the reheat exchanger 14.15 goes to the auxiliary dew pan 34, respectively. It is received and collected in the recessed part 36. 3
Reference numeral 7 denotes a cover that covers the drain pump (see FIG. 1) disposed in the recessed portion 36. Then, the drain water accumulated in the recessed portion 36 is sucked up by the drain pump and discharged to the outside of the machine. Incidentally, the outer edge of the drain pan 31 has a claw 38 extending outward, and the lead wire from the drain pump is engaged with the claw 38.

39 is a decorative panel, which has a suction grille 40 in the center and horizontally elongated discharge ports 41 on both sides of the suction grille. This decorative panel 39 is applied to the lower part of the outer panel 2, and when the decorative panel 39 is applied to the outer panel 2 in this way, the suction grill 40 is placed in a V-shaped exchanger 14. The discharge ports 41 face the cross flow fans 5, respectively. One attachment hole 42 close to the discharge port 41 matches the screw hole 43 of the flange piece 8 of the attachment plate 7, and thus the decorative panel 39 can be attached to the outer panel 2 with screws.

In such an air conditioner 1, by rotating the cross flow fan 5, indoor air is transferred to the heat exchangers 14 and 15 facing each other in a V-shape via the suction grill 40.
Introduced into the space between comrades. The air introduced into this space is divided into the heat exchangers 14 and 15, where it exchanges heat with the refrigerant flowing in the heat exchangers, and is blown out from the respective discharge ports 41.

Electrode rods 56 for detecting the water level of drain water are attached to a total of four locations at the inner lower end and corner of this cover 37 (one electrode rod is hidden and cannot be seen in FIG. 2).
The lengths of the electrode rods 56 that protrude downward from the lower edge of the cover 37 are all different, and the longest electrode rod and the third electrode rod form a pair to control the operation of the drain pump. The electrode rod having the second length and the electrode rod having the shortest length form a pair to control the operation of the air conditioner.

That is, drain water accumulates in the recess 36, the water level gradually rises, and when the water touches the third length electrode rod, the drain pump 49 is operated. Even with this operation, the water level of the drain water does not fall but rises, and when the drain water touches the electrode rod of the shortest length, the operation of the air conditioner 1 is stopped.

Since the drain pump 49 is disposed in the recessed part 36 of the drain pan 31 in this way, the rising part 57 of the drain hose 48 connected to this drain pump 49 is connected to the drain pan 31.
It is located above. For this reason, the outer cover 30 serving as the side wall of the outer plate 2 can be brought closer to the end of the drain pan 31. In addition, the decorative panel 39 is installed with the outer panel 2 embedded in the ceiling.
If the drain pump 49 is removed, and then the cover 37 is removed by inserting the hand into the ventilation port 32, the left side of the drain pump 49 will be exposed and service inspection of the pump 49 can be performed.

(G) Effects of the Invention As described above, the air conditioner of the present invention has two heat exchangers arranged facing each other, and a main dew pan located below the heat exchanger and a main dew pan located below the heat exchanger. A drain pan is formed by connecting the auxiliary dew pan, and a part of the auxiliary dew pan is recessed inward, and the drain pump is installed in this recess.
The drain pump is located in a space between the heat exchangers arranged facing each other, and service inspection of the drain pump can be performed by entering the space. Therefore, there is no need to provide a space between the main unit and the opening in the ceiling for service inspection of the drain pump, and the size of the main unit and the opening in the ceiling can be almost matched, reducing the installation area of the air conditioner. It can be suppressed.

Moreover, since the drain pump does not protrude from the drain pan, the rising part of the drain hose connected to the drain pump is also prevented from protruding from the drain pan, and the drain pan and the exterior body can be brought close together to reduce the size of the main body.
