記レーザ加工装置に設けられ、レーザ光が照射される生
地2の加工部を覆って加工室5を形成するカバー、6は
、この加工室5内のコンベア1上に通気流Aを生成させ
るために加工室5に設けられた送風装置である。この送
風装置6は加工室5の外部から空気Bを取り入れ、この
空気を排出して通気流Aを生成させるための上流側送風
機7と、この通気流Aを吸込んで加工室5の外側に排出
するための下流側送風機8と、この下流側送風機8とは
ダクト9で接続され、該下流側送風機8からの排出空気
を、ダクト10を介して外部に排出するための排風機1

空気の流れが形成される。この状態下でレーザ加工装置
を動作させて、ミラー3からコンベア1上の生地2にレ
ーザ光を2次元的に走査しつつ照射すると、該生地2の
加工部からは煙が発生するが、この煙は上記通気流Aに
よって直ちに加工部から除去されると共に、上記空気の
流れを形成する空気と共に運ばれて加工室5の外部に排
