能である。Although the embodiments of the lighting device for a liquid crystal display element according to the present invention have been described in detail above, the present invention is not limited thereto. body 1
A light emitting element 5 is inserted into a light emitting element insertion hole 1a formed in a predetermined portion of the light emitting element 5, and the light emitted from the light emitting element 5 is reflected on at least the back surface of the light guide 1 toward the liquid crystal display element side. Any structure can be used as long as it can lead to this. Therefore, for example, (1) the sloped surface 1b of the light guide 1 may be subjected to a matte finish; with this configuration, the sloped surface 1 more effectively reflects the light emitted by the light emitting element 5, and the color filter 3 is shaded; (2) The surface of the light guide 1 may be treated with a matte finish. With this configuration, the light guided from the light guide 1 toward the liquid crystal display element can be more effectively diffused. death,
The color filter 3 can be illuminated in a dazzling manner, and (1) In the above embodiment, the upper surface of the light emitting element insertion holes 1a and la provided in the light guide 1 may be coated with paint 1f (Fig. 5) so that the light 50 does not go directly to the color filter 3 side, but instead of this, a large number of irregularities are provided on the upper surface of the light emitting element insertion holes 1a, la, etc. It may be constructed so that the light 50 directed toward this surface is diffusely reflected, and (1) the color filter 3 does not need to be a chromatic filter, but may be milky white or other. Various modifications are possible.

Since the light emitted by the light emitting element does not directly illuminate the liquid crystal display element, but the reflected light illuminates the liquid crystal display element indirectly, the vertical dimension of the lighting device can be considerably reduced, and the entire surface of the liquid crystal display element can be illuminated uniformly. It has the excellent effect of being able to
