本発明は防黴処理を施した難燃性組成物に関するもので

(従来の技術)
従来よりポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のポリマーの
難燃性組成物として、該ポリマーに水酸化マグネシウム
等の金属水和物を配合してなる組成物が多用されている

然しなから近時上記の如き組成物を電線又はケーブルの
被覆材に適用した場合、カビの繁殖し易い高湿度の雰囲
気中に放置することにより、その表面にカビが発生し、
電線ケーブル等の製品の特性を著しく劣化せしめるもの
であった。この対策として組成物の表面に10.10’
−オキシビスフェノキシアルシン(OBPA)等の防
黴剤を塗布するとか或は該組成物中に防黴剤を練込んで
いるものであった。然し前者の如く防黴剤を塗布した場
合、期間の経過に伴って防黴剤が剥離するおそれがあり
また後者の如く防黴剤を練り込む場合、その効果を発揮
せしめるには大量の防黴剤を必要とするため経済的に不
利であると共に該組成物の特性に悪影響を及ぼすもので

エチレン等のポリマー中に防黴剤を練込むにおいて、少
量の配合量にて優れた防黴性を発揮しうる難燃性組成物

防黴剤とを併用して含有せしめたものであり、まずシラ
ンカップリング剤にてポリマーと金属水和物とからなる
難燃組成物の吸水性を減少せしめ、これが防黴剤による
防黴作用において相乗的効果を発揮せしめたものと推考

リング剤、防黴剤を夫々配合したものを混練して本発明
