Abstract

PURPOSE:To keep electrical parts at a temperature lower than a desired temperature, improve reliability of an air conditioner and extend its life as well as to facilitate inspection and replacement of the electrical parts by a method wherein a heat radiator is arranged within an air feeding passage, a horizontal part of the heat radiator is arranged between the heat radiator and a vertical wall of a building and the electrical parts generating heat are fixed below the horizontal part. CONSTITUTION:A main body 1 of an outdoor unit is hung at the veranda 6 and a lower outer box 10 is fixed to a main body 4 of an outer box by screws 9. A heat radiating part 16a of a heat radiating plate 16 is passed through a hole formed in a fan casing 11 and projected into an air passage 15. A heat radiating plate 16 is provided with a horizontal part 16b between the heat radiating part 16a and a vertical wall 18 of a building. A power transistor 19 is fixed by a screw 20 below the horizontal part 16b. Air passed through a condensor 12 is also passed through the heat radiating part 16a of the thermal radiating plate 16 to cool the entire heat radiating plate 16 and the power transistor 19 fixed is also cooled by the air. The screws 9 are removed and the lower outer box 10 only is removed, resulting in that an inspection of the power transistor 19 can be performed and in addition the fixing screw 20 for the power transistor 19 is merely removed to enable the parts to be replaced.
