Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the title ink which remarkably decreases dot wire abrasion loss and hence enables parts replacement frequency to be remarkably decreased, and permits high conc. and the use of aniline black alone, and which comprises an aniline black having a particle size regulated to a predetermined value and a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The title ink is obtd. by mixing sufficiently an aniline black having an average particle size regulated to 200mum or less, pref. 100mum or less, as a colorant with a vehicle, such as oleic acid or rape seed oil. A ribbon for dot printer is obtd. by applying the ink on a ribbon substrate such as a nylon cloth. The above-mentioned article size contributes to a remarkable decrease in dot wire abrasion loss and hence enables parts replacement frequency to be remarkably decreased. Moreover, the ink can be of high conc. so that the use of aniline back alone is possible.

(Prior Art and its Problems) Recently, dot impact printers, which print by driving thin metal pins into cloth ribbons, have been widely used as printing devices for word processors and computers. If high-speed printing and high-quality printing are to be achieved with this one-type dot printer, the diameter of the dot wire (metal pin described above) must be very thin, for example, 200 μm or less.

As described above, when the dot wire is made thinner, the dot wire becomes more abrasive due to printing, which hinders the development of high-speed, high-quality dot printers.

(Progress of the Invention) The present inventors have previously focused on colorants used in this type of ribbon ink, and have developed a ribbon for dot printers containing carbon black and aniline black with an average particle size of 30 mμ or less, and a vehicle. Developed ink (Japanese Patent Application No. 62-000848).

However, the wear amount of the dot wire was limited to 10 to 15μ at 100 million dots. However, the inventors
By applying highly concentrated aniline black with a particle size adjusted to 0On+7z or less, more preferably 100mμ or less, as a coloring agent, the wear of dots and wires is almost prevented, and it can be used alone as a coloring agent. It was found that the concentration increases.

The aniline black used in the present invention may be commercially available, but almost all commercially available aniline blacks have an average particle size of 220 mμ or more, and the aniline black used in the present invention with an average particle size of 200 mμ or less is produced in the synthesis process. , special technology for particle size adjustment is required. The average particle size is usually
Measured using a scanning electron microscope. Generally, aniline black has a low viscosity and is difficult to use as a coloring agent, but by adjusting the particle size, it can be made into a very high concentration and can now be used satisfactorily as a coloring agent.

Addition 1 of aniline black is 5 to 40% by weight, preferably 20 to 301fn% of the total amount of the ink. 5% by weight
If the amount is less than 40% by weight, there will be no function as a coloring agent and the wear of the dots and wires will increase, and if it is more than 40% by weight, problems will occur in coating due to the physical properties of the ink.

The ribbon ink for dot printers of the present invention can be obtained by thoroughly mixing the above aniline black with a vehicle, such as a fixed oil. By applying the obtained ink to a ribbon fabric, such as nylon fabric, a ribbon for dot printers can be obtained. Examples of fixed oils include motor oil, oleic acid,
Rapeseed oil, soybean oil, castor oil, etc. are used. Coating is usually performed by methods such as gravure and flexography. The coating amount is generally 10 to 179/z''.
