Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable inexpensive formation of a partition which forbids light leakage by using a part of stages for forming active elements to form the above-mentioned partition. CONSTITUTION:MIM elements 24 consisting of tantalum 21, tantalum pentoxide and chromium 23 is used as the active elements. The partition 27 are formed by using a part of the stages for forming the active elements to the outer circumference of a picture element region 12 of a liquid crystal panel formed with the active elements on one substrate 28. Then, the leakage of the light from the spacing between the partition 27 and the picture element region 12 is obviated. The formation of the partition which prevents the light leakage and allows the easy viewing of picture elements and characters without increasing the cost is thereby enabled.

However, in the above-mentioned technique, light leakage 35 occurs from the Fi 34 between the panel 15 and the parting part 14, and parting part printing 4
Light leakage 43 occurs from the gap 42 between the pixel area 1 and the pixel area 12, which obstructs the viewing of images and characters. In addition, printing 41 on the panel or polarizing plate has also been a factor in increasing costs. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention is intended to solve these problems, and an object of the present invention is to form a parting that does not cause light leakage without increasing costs.

FIG. 2 shows an embodiment of the present invention, in which quantal (Ta) 21 and tantalum pentoxide (Taa 0
& ), an MIM cord 24 made of chromium (Cr) 23 is used. Outside the pixel area 12, partitions 27 are formed in a tantalum pattern in the vertical and horizontal directions. The side with the lead wire to terminal 25 (in this example, the left and right sides)
, connects the lead-out gland and the parting line to form an input capacitor 26 for static electricity countermeasures (to protect the elements within the pixel from static electricity). The four sides around the pixel are covered with tantalum [II], which helps prevent electrostatic damage during rubbing.

FIG. 5 shows another embodiment of the present invention, in which the outside of the pixel area 12 is partitioned with an opaque metal such as tantalum or chromium. Further, a parting terminal 51 is taken out so that the potential of the metal part of this parting part can be applied from the outside. If the parting part is in a barking state of 70-ting, when electric charge is injected from the outside due to static electricity, the area around the parting line will become a dot, so it is necessary to maintain the potential at the parting part. An input capacitor 2G is formed in the middle of the lead wire to the terminal 25, and an electrostatic countermeasure line 52 is provided on the opposing board side of this capacitor 26 as a measure that is effective in sufficiently preventing electrostatic damage. .
