One method of attaching an electrical contact to a terminal board is to use a header process on a noble metal wire with a circular cross section to form a rivet-type electrical contact 1 as shown in Figure 1a, and the legs of this rivet-type electrical contact 1 as shown in Figure b. As shown in Figure 2, there is a method of inserting the legs into the contact mounting holes 3 drilled in the terminal board 2 and caulking the legs to the periphery of the contact mounting holes 3 on the back side of the terminal board 2. In order to reduce the price by saving the precious metal material of the electrical contact 1, a rivet-type composite electrical contact 4 in which the noble metal material is arranged only in the upper layer of the head as shown in FIG. 2 is sometimes used.

By the way, in the case of a solid rivet type electrical contact 1 as shown in Fig. 1a, the above method can be automated, so by supplying a noble metal wire and a strip-shaped terminal plate, an electrical contact as shown in Fig. 1b can be made. 5 can be easily produced with one mold, but in the case of a rivet-type composite electrical contact 4 as shown in FIG. 2, the process of joining the contact material and the base material is Because of this, the equipment required to automatically create electrical contacts is complicated, and the current situation is that it has not been put to practical use. For this reason, when making an electrical contact equipped with the rivet-type composite electrical contact 4, the contact must be crimped separately, which is time-consuming and makes it impossible to reduce costs. Furthermore, in the case of a rivet-type composite electrical contact, when the contact material and the base material are joined, each contact is joined separately, which tends to lead to large variations in joint strength, making it difficult to ensure uniform quality.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has an extremely small and stable variation in bonding strength, uniform quality, and enables automatic continuous processing when manufacturing electrical contacts, thereby reducing costs. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact that can be used.

Hereinafter, various embodiments of the method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact according to the present invention will be explained with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. The composite material 8 is joined by inlay fitting to create a composite strip 9. Next, this composite composite material 9 is folded in half in the longitudinal direction, and then passed through a groove roll having a T-shaped groove and the folded portion is further bent. After molding, a contact material 8 is placed on the top surface as shown in Figure 3b.
The base material leg portions 10 for mounting are arranged on the lower surface to form a T-shaped cross section, and then the composite electrical contact 11 is obtained by cutting the base material into a fixed length in the longitudinal direction.

Further, as shown in FIG. 4a, band-shaped grooves 7 are provided on both left and right sides of a wide band-shaped base material 6', and band-shaped contact materials 8 are joined to the respective band-shaped grooves 7 by inlay fitting to form a band-shaped composite material 9'. Next, this band-shaped composite material 9' is folded in two in the longitudinal direction, and then passed through a groove roll having a T-shaped groove, and the folded part is further bent and formed to form contact materials on both the upper and lower surfaces as shown in FIG. 4b. 8 and a base leg 10 for mounting is formed on the right side surface to form a T-shaped cross section, and then cut into a fixed size in the longitudinal direction to obtain a composite electrical contact 11'.

In the manufacturing method of the composite electrical contact of the present invention described in detail above, the strip-shaped contact material is attached to the strip-shaped base material under certain conditions, so unlike the conventional manufacturing method of the rivet-type composite electrical contact, the contacts are attached to the strip-shaped base material individually. There is no need to join materials. Therefore, variations in the bonding strength between the base material and the contact material are extremely small and stable. Furthermore, since the band-shaped composite material obtained by attaching the band-shaped contact material to the band-shaped base material is bent in the longitudinal direction, it is possible to make a composite electrical contact with a desired cross-sectional shape and the quality is uniform. Further, in the method for manufacturing a composite electrical contact of the present invention, a strip-shaped composite material is obtained by simultaneously carrying out feeding of a strip-shaped base material and feeding of a strip-shaped contact material or construction of contact plating, which is then suitably bent and formed by a forming machine. Composite electrical contacts can be obtained by cutting them to the required dimensions, so by combining the feeding of the terminal board with this series of processes and adding the process of attaching the composite electrical contacts, automation through continuous processing of electrical contacts can be achieved. It is possible to achieve this, and there are effects such as being able to reduce costs.
