Conventionally, connectors have been used to electrically connect a circuit board on which electronic components are arranged and an external circuit. For example, a female connector is attached to a circuit board, a male connector is connected to an external circuit, and the male and female connectors are fitted together to establish an electrical connection. In a structure using this connector, the circuit board can be easily replaced by simply removing and fitting the connector.

By the way, in a situation where the number of system LSIs has increased in recent years and the contents of EPROMs, etc. need to be changed frequently due to requests for functional expansion, etc., it is necessary to temporarily remove or replace the circuit board. Therefore, the opportunities for connecting and disconnecting connectors are increasing. Of course, if a failure occurs in some of the electronic components, it will be necessary to replace the circuit board.

However, with conventional circuit boards, the required electronic components are mounted on the printed wiring board to configure the required circuit, so especially when replacing the circuit board, electronic components that do not require replacement are also included in the circuit. It is necessary to replace the circuit board together with the board, and the cost of preparing the circuit board and the electronic components mounted thereon to be replaced becomes expensive, which is economically undesirable.

Further, the male connector 20 is shown in a plan view in FIG.
As shown in the vertical cross-sectional views in the figures, contact pins 23 are inserted into and supported through a plurality of insertion holes 24 formed in the housing 21 made of insulating resin. The conductor path 2 is formed by selectively disposing conductive resin.
5 is formed. A part of the conductor path 25 is formed on the inner surface of the insertion hole 24 to be electrically connected to the contact pin 23, and the other part of the conductor path 25 is formed on the inner surface of the insertion hole 24.
The recesses 26 provided at other locations are formed as desired. A semiconductor chip or other electronic component 27 is mounted in this recess 26 and electrically connected to the conductor path 25 by a metal wire 28 or the like. Although the semiconductor chip and other electronic components 27 are originally mounted on the circuit board 1, they do not need to be replaced when the circuit board 1 is replaced.

Therefore, according to this configuration, the circuit board 1 and the bank wiring board 2 have the contact pins 23 of the male connector 20 connected to the female contacts 14 of the female connector 10 at the rear end, as shown in FIG. The electrical connection is made by fitting the front end into the insertion hole 3 of the back wiring board 2. When the circuit board 1 is once removed or replaced with another circuit board, the contact pins 23 of the male connector 20 need only be removed from the female connector 10, and this can be done in the same manner as before.

However, in this configuration, the housing 21 of the male connector 20 has a required circuit formed by the conductor path 25 and the electronic component 27, and this circuit is a part of the circuit of the circuit board 1, in this case the circuit board. Since the circuit board 1 is configured as a circuit that does not require replacement even when the circuit board 1 is replaced, the circuit configured by the circuit board 1 can be omitted and the number of electronic components to be mounted can be reduced accordingly.

Furthermore, as shown in FIGS. 6(a) to 6(d), the contact pin 23 is a breath-fit pin in which easily deformable fitting parts 23a and 23b having different width dimensions are formed in a part of the front end. May be adopted. As shown in FIG. 7, this contact pin has a wide fitting part 23a inserted into the insertion hole 24 of the male housing 21, and a small fitting part 23b inserted into the insertion hole 3 of the back wiring board 2. It may be inserted. According to this, the strength of the insertion support of the contact pin 23 can be improved, and the electrical contact efficiency can be improved. Moreover, the operability of inserting the contact pin 23 can also be improved.
