Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the extrusion of adhesive from an adherent surface and as well enhance the intensity of bonding by providing excess adhesive absorbent grooves on the adherent surface of a trim portion or a scan portion in a weatherstrip formed by means of bonding integrally the trim portion with the seal portion. CONSTITUTION:A weatherstrip installed in the circumferential edge of the door opening/closing portion of an automobile is formed by means of bonding integrally a PVC polyvinyl chloride resin)-made trim portion 1 with a EPDM (ethylene propylene diene ternary copolymer rubber) sponge-made seal portion 2. In this weatherstrip, two excess adhesive absorbent grooves 12 are formed on the adherent surface 11 of the trim portion 1 along the longitudinal direction and as well the same excess adhesive absorbent grooves 22 are formed on the adherent surface 21 of the seal portion 2. With this arrangement, when both portions 1, 2 are bonded integrally with each other through adhesive, the excess adhesive of the adhesive applied to the adherent surface 11 can be absorbed in respective absorbent grooves 12, 22.

Conventional technology> Conventionally, trim parts made of resin such as PVC and EPDM
, CR, NR, or other rubber seals are made by extruding the trim portion and seal portion separately, and then applying a primer to each adhering surface of the trim portion and seal portion. For example, weatherstrips are manufactured by applying a two-component CR adhesive consisting of polyisocyanate and chloroprene rubber, and pressing and bonding three sleeve surfaces together.

<Problems to be solved by the invention> However, when bonding the trim part and the seal part using adhesive, it is difficult to always apply the appropriate amount of adhesive to the adhered surface, and the amount of adhesive applied is If there is too much adhesive, the adhesive will protrude from the surface to which it is applied when both sleeves are crimped, and this protruding portion will discolor when exposed to light, resulting in a problem of deteriorating the appearance of the weatherstrip. Furthermore, if the amount of adhesive applied is too small, there is a problem that the adhesive area decreases and the adhesive strength decreases.

Therefore, even if some adhesive is applied to the adhesion surfaces of the trim part and the seal part and bonded, the excess adhesive will be absorbed into the absorption grooves provided in the adhesion part, and the adhesive will not adhere properly. It is possible to prevent the adhesive from protruding from the surface and ensure good adhesive strength.

As shown in Figure 2, trim a! 11, there are two excess adhesive absorption grooves 12 along the longitudinal direction, and as shown in FIG. are provided along its longitudinal direction. These excess adhesive absorption grooves 12 and 22 are formed to have a volume that can absorb excess adhesive applied to the adherend surface 11 and does not adversely affect the strength of the trim portion or seal portion. Ru. In addition, a core material 13 such as a metal plate is inserted into the trim part l, and a clamping lip f'51 is inserted inside.

During such gluing work, if a large amount of adhesive is applied to both waving surfaces 11.21 or to either side, excess adhesive may form on both waving surfaces 11.21. The adhesive flows into the adhesive absorption grooves 12.22, the adhesive does not leak out, and the appearance of the finished weatherstripping is not deteriorated, and the adhesive is allowed to be applied in a few lines. The amount of adhesive applied is almost never too small, and defective adhesion due to insufficient amount of application is prevented.

The weather strip shown in Fig. 6 has a trim part 5 (Fig. 8) in which one excess adhesive absorber 1Iv115 is provided on the adhering surface.
This is an example in which a seal portion 6 provided with one excess adhesive absorption groove 16 is bonded. The two excess adhesive absorption grooves 15.16 are arranged so as to be located on both sides of the adhesive part, and when the adhesive is applied in a few strips during bonding, the excess adhesive will be absorbed into these absorption grooves 15.16. 16, the adhesive is prevented from extruding from the bonded area, and sufficient adhesive strength is obtained.

Experimental Examples> The table below shows the experimental results of the tensile adhesive strength, etc. of the four examples shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 to 6. For each sample, the seal part 2°3.6 was adhered to the trim part 1, 4.5 of each shape using the above primer and urethane adhesive. I made it by gluing the weather strip in the same way. In addition, in the experiment, after adhering the trim part and the seal part, the sample was left at room temperature for 24 hours, and the adhesive strength was measured by pulling the sample from both sides in a direction perpendicular to the adhering surface at a speed of 50 rs/min. This was done by observing the presence or absence of adhesive extrusion.

<Effects of the Invention> As explained above, according to the weatherstrip of the present invention, in the weatherstrip in which the trim part and the seal part are integrally bonded, there is no excessive adhesion on the adhering surface of at least one of the trim part and the seal part. Since adhesive absorption grooves are provided, even if adhesive is applied several times to the adhesion surface of the trim part and seal part, the excess adhesive can be prevented from spilling out from the adhesion surface, making it a good product. Adhesive strength can also be ensured.
