Recently, we have been cleaning and cleaning the outside of used endoscopes and the inside of built-in tubes such as forceps introduction tubes and forceps operation wire guide tubes.
Disinfection has become more rigorous. Since this cleaning and disinfection is often carried out by automatic machines, it has become mainstream for endoscopes to have a watertight or airtight structure as a whole.

There are various ways to disinfect endoscopes that have a watertight and airtight structure.
One of these methods is disinfection using E・O・G (C 2 H 4 O). This involves placing the endoscope inside the gas chamber, creating a negative pressure inside the gas chamber, and thereby removing air from the internal tube of the endoscope. Next, this gas chamber is filled with E.O.G and heated, thereby sterilizing the endoscope by introducing E.O.G into the internal tube as well as the outside of the endoscope.

However, during this sterilization process, when the gas chamber is brought to negative pressure, the soft outer covering of the endoscope's flexible tube, especially the angle part at the tip, swells due to heat and internal pressure, and in severe cases may rupture.

Therefore, a technique as shown in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 164036/1983 was developed. As shown in FIG. 1, this is a protective tube 3 for an endoscope that includes a rigid protective tube body provided outside at least the flexible portion 1 and the curved portion 2 of the body insertion portion of the endoscope. .

Since this is a protective tube made of rigid materials such as metal, heat-resistant plastic, metal blades, synthetic rubber, wood, and bamboo, the entire tube is rigid and difficult to handle, and the gas chamber must be shaped into a long rectangular shape. In addition, the connection part 4 with the endoscope
Since it has to be formed to suit each endoscope, it has the drawback of not being versatile and also having the drawback of being an expensive product.

The purpose of this invention is to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks by forming a flexible spiral tube of a desired diameter using a flat plate made of synthetic resin such as Teflon or heat-resistant polyethylene, and inserting an endoscope into the spiral tube. The present invention is characterized in that by inserting at least the angle portion and placing it in the gas chamber, the flexible tube portion is prevented from excessive expansion and rupture when the gas chamber is suddenly made negative pressure.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing the state of use, and 5 is an endoscope with a handle 6 and a flexible tube 7 following it.

10 is a flexible spiral tube made of a flat plate made of synthetic resin such as Teflon, heat-resistant polyethylene, or synthetic rubber, wound in a spiral shape, and constitutes a rupture-prevention tube. However, there may be a gap. Further, the diameter is such that the gap S does not become too large when the endoscope is inserted. The length is such that the entire length of the flexible tube section 7 of the endoscope is included, and the rear end is latched to the end of the handle section 6 by expanding in the direction in which the spiral expands.

According to the rupture prevention tube having the above structure, the flexible tube part 7 is inserted into the rupture prevention tube 10 and the end of the rupture prevention tube 10 is slightly rolled back, so that the handle part 6 is It is latched to the end and stored in a unified state so that it can be rolled up for use in the E, O, and G gas chambers.

Therefore, the air in the gas chamber is once removed to create a negative pressure, but at this time, the jacket of the flexible tube section 7, especially the angle section 9, swells as shown by the dotted line in Figure 3 due to the sudden drop in external pressure. , the bulge remains within the inner diameter of the burst prevention tube 10, and as a result, the angle portion 9 will not burst. In this case, since the other portions of the flexible tube portion 7 are made harder than the outer cover of the angle portion 9, there is little expansion in this portion when a relatively weak negative pressure is applied.

By making the gas chamber negative pressure as described above, the internal tube inside the endoscope 5 also becomes negative pressure little by little, and when the whole becomes negative pressure, when E, O, and G are injected into the two chambers, The gas travels through the gas chamber, the built-in tube, and the rupture-prevention tube through the gap between the spirals, and sterilization is carried out by keeping the gas at a temperature of usually 60° to 70°C for a certain period of time.

According to the present invention having the above structure and function, the rupture prevention tube is constructed by spirally winding a flat plate made of synthetic resin, so that gas can sufficiently enter and exit the rupture prevention tube through the gap. Moreover, because it is flexible, the endoscope can be easily inserted into the rupture-proof tube and the entire endoscope can be bent into any shape, so it can be stored rolled up in a small gas chamber and is fully sterilized. becomes possible.

In addition, since the structure does not require a fixed cap or the like, it can be made very inexpensive and can be used as a disposable rupture-prevention tube.
