Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce an aseptic cosmetic without using disinfectant and preservative and applying not any change in the production process, by packaging containers filled with a cosmetic in a box and irradiating the packed cosmetic with gamma-ray radiated from cobalt 60. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic such as milky lotion, cream, liquid, semi-solid or powder is filled in various kinds of containers and the containers filled with the cosmetic are packaged in a box and sterilized by the irradiation of gamma-ray radiated from cobalt 60 at a dose of 0.5-5.2 Mrad. Sundry germs in the cosmetic can be almost completely killed to obtain an aseptic cosmetic. The cosmetic can be preserved without causing putrefaction or degradation of the content with time and the preservable period of the cosmetic can be remarkably prolonged.
