Abstract

PURPOSE:To offer the titled welding machine, which can apply a uniform pressure to a saddle holder and maintain it under a proper pressed condition without necessity of manpower, by slidably holding the saddle holder in a specified state with a couple of shafts vertically arranged on a support for supporting a pipe. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 17 is fixed to a support 11 with clamps 12, 13, while a saddle 33 is supported with a saddle holder 34 fixed to the lower part of a spindle 23 attached to a flat plate 24 pivoted with a member 20 elevating through a cylindrical part 21 to be guided by shafts 18, 19. The surface parts of the saddle 33 and the pipe 17 to be welded are heated with a heater, and a downward pressure is applied to a handle 27 by gripping it to apply a rotating force to the handle 27 and to engage stoppers with notches 18a, 19a. Under this condition, a pressing power is applied from the elevating member 20 through a spring 36 and the saddle holder 34 to the saddle 33. Consequently, the surface of the saddle 33 to be welded is welded to the pipe 17.

Conventionally, this connection has been carried out by heating the fusion surfaces of the saddle and pipe, crimping the saddle onto the pipe, fusing them together, and cooling them. Several types of fusion splicing machines have been developed for this purpose. There is. Generally, large models are often used that move the holder that holds the saddle etc. using hydraulic cylinders, levers, etc., but when burying the pipe as a gas pipe, it becomes necessary to fuse the saddle in a narrow place underground. In this case, it becomes difficult to use a large model such as the one described above. For this purpose, a relatively small manually operated saddle fusion machine was developed and used.
As shown in Figure 2, the pipe 1 is held by the clamp 2, and the saddle holder 3 is pressed against the pipe while applying force by hand, and the saddle 4 held by the saddle holder 3 is crimped onto the pipe 1 for a predetermined period of time. There is.
Therefore, it is difficult for the hand force applied to the saddle holder 3 to be uniform, which may result in uneven force being applied to the saddle 4, making it impossible to perform good welding, or by applying manual pressure for a certain period of time until the welding surface cools down. There were drawbacks such as the need for labor and skill to add.

Generally, the technology of melting and fixing saddles to synthetic resin pipes is known, for example,
Japanese Patent No. 125865 discloses a ball-type universal joint used for the shaft that presses the saddle against the pipe. However, in such known technology, since the pressing shaft is bent by the universal joint, a separate push rod must be provided to prevent the shaft from wobbling, which increases the size of the entire device, and the saddle is welded to the pipe buried underground. This is inconvenient when it is necessary to dig a hole and insert the device into the hole, as in the case of

According to the present invention, a pair of shafts are erected on a support that supports a synthetic resin pipe, and an elevating member guided by the shafts is equipped with a handle, and a flat plate having stoppers at both ends that engage with the shafts. is pivotally supported, the upper end of the spindle is fixed to a flat plate or an elevating member, the lower end of the spindle is inserted into a hole provided in the saddle holder, and the saddle holder of the spindle is engaged, so that the elevating member and the saddle holder are connected. A spring is provided between them.

Therefore, after heating the fused surfaces of the saddle and the pipe, the elevating member is moved downward by the handle, and the flat plate is rotated and latched to the stopper. Then, the pressing force of the spring is applied to the saddle holder and presses the saddle against the pipe, but the pressing force is constant because it is applied by the spring. During this time, workers keep their hands off the handle. After a predetermined period of time has elapsed and the fusion is completed and solidified, the flat plate may be rotated to remove the stopper and the elevating member may be raised.

Therefore, labor can be saved, and the saddle can be easily fused to the pipe without requiring any skill.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. In Figures 3 to 7, the saddle fusion machine 1
0 has a pipe support 11, and the pipe support 11 has a pair of clamps 12 spaced apart from each other,
13 is pivotally connected by a hinge member 14. The clamps 12, 13 are fixed to the support 11 by means of a tightening member 16 with a handle 15 and hold the pipe 17. Each clamp 12, 13 has a shaft 18, 19 erected therein, and the shaft 18 has a crimping notch 18a and a heating notch 18b, and the shaft 19 also has similar notches 19a, 19b. In the illustrated example, the shafts 18 and 19 are erected on the support 11 via the clamps 12 and 13, but they may also stand in direct contact with the support separately from the clamps.

1 and close the clamp. Hold the saddle 33 in the saddle holder 34, raise the elevating member 20 and the flat plate 24, and move the stopper 29 to the notch 18.
b, 19b, and a heater is inserted between the pipe and the saddle to heat the fused surfaces of the saddle 33 and the pipe 17. The above operating procedure can be varied in various ways. Then, disengage the stopper 29,
Remove the heater, lower the elevating member 20, etc. to the position shown in Fig. 3, and then further grasp the handle 27 and apply downward force until the stopper 29 reaches the notch 1.
8a and 19a, a rotational force is applied to the handle 27, and the flat plate 24 is rotated in the direction shown in FIG. 4, so that the stopper 29 is engaged with the notch. This state is shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, and in this state, from the lifting member 20 to the spring 36, the saddle holder 3
4, a pressing force is applied to the saddle 33, so that the welding surface of the saddle 33 is welded to the pipe 17. The above state is maintained without requiring any human effort or skill and continues until the fused surface is cooled and solidified. When the saddle is fused to the pipe, the elevating member 20 and the like are raised by the reverse operation to the above, the clamps 12 and 13 are removed, and the fusion machine 10 is attached to the pipe 1.
The work is completed by removing it from 7. Note that even if the wall thicknesses a and b of the fused portion of the saddle are different, the saddle holder 34 moves relative to the spindle 23,
No excessive force is applied to the saddle.
