That is, the method of the present invention uses an oil fence that is provided vertically with a tubular body through which a rope is inserted through the ends of the oil fences to be connected, and the lower end side of the rope at the ends of both oil fences to be connected that float on the water. Alternatively, the ends of both oil fences can be joined by first tying one end of the upper end to each other and then tying the other ends of the upper or lower end of the rope with the ends of both oil fences brought close to each other. It is characterized by: In the present invention, the terms "upper" and "lower" refer to the upper and lower sides of the oil fence when it is floating on water.
