<Conventional technology> Conventionally, in order to connect the ends of power lines, signal lines, etc.,
The ends of the power wires, etc. to be connected to each other are connected to male and female terminals respectively fixed to mutually opposing parts of a pair of casings that are designed to be able to engage with each other, and both casings are engaged with each other. Various types of terminal couplers have been used to electrically connect both terminals by doing so.

In the terminal coupler of this type, which is often used in in-vehicle electrical equipment, as described above, the pair of casings each have a fitting protrusion and a fitting recess that can be fitted to each other. , the tip of the male terminal protruding within the fitting recess of one casing is inserted into the 11m terminal held inside the hole opening in the end face of the fitting convexity of the other casing, and both terminals are aligned with each other. are combined.

However, in this type of terminal coupler, it is necessary for the male terminal to properly align with the relatively small opening for the female terminal formed on the end surface of the mating convex portion, and in particular, the male terminal requires high assembly. Attaching requires precision. Furthermore, even after properly assembling the terminals, when storing or handling the terminal coupler, the male terminal may bend due to collision with a foreign object, requiring a great deal of force to connect the terminal coupler, or causing the terminal coupler to bend. There was a risk that excessive force would be applied to the terminal coupler, or that the terminal coupler would be unable to connect.

The casing 1 has a distal end 3 having a generally rectangular cross-sectional shape, a proximal end 4 wider than the distal end 3, and a rectangular cylindrical shape, and surrounds a portion from the proximal end 4 to the distal end 3. It also has a guide part 5 which is integrally connected to the most proximal end of the proximal end part 4 at its R proximal end. A plurality of holding holes 6 are formed inside the casing 1 in the axial direction, and the female terminal 7 is inserted from the proximal side opening of the holding hole 6.
In addition, its entry into the holding hole 6 is restricted by a step 8, and it is stopped by a locking means (not shown).

On the other hand, the second casing 2 includes a distal end portion 12 and a relatively narrow proximal end portion 13. The distal end portion 12 is hollow, and a fitting recess 14 that is open toward the distal end is formed inside the distal end portion 12 . A plurality of holding holes 15 are formed in the proximal end 13 and open toward the proximal side, and a tongue piece 16 is provided protruding inside the intermediate portion of the holding hole.

The male terminal 17 consists of a tongue piece 18 at the tip, a gripping part 19 at the base end, and an engaging part 20 located in the middle thereof. Therefore,
When the male terminal 17 is inserted from the proximal opening of the holding hole 15,
The tongue piece 16 projects axially into the fitting recess 14 from a through-hole in the partition formed between the holding hole 15 and the fitting recess 14, and the engaging part 20 engages elastically with the tongue piece 16. The male terminal 17 is held and positioned within the holding hole 15 by the positive engagement. Similar to the female terminal 7, a covered portion and a bare wire portion of the lead wire 21 are held in the holding portion 19.

A guide member 22 in the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped container with a bottom and open outward is slidably received in the fitting recess 14 along the axial direction. A guide hole 23 is bored in the bottom of the guide member 22, and receives the tongue piece 18 so as to be relatively displaceable in the axial direction. Further, there is a gap between the outer surface of the guide member 22 and the inner surface of the fitting recess 14, which is easy to come off in the direction of entry (in the direction of the arrow), as shown in FIG.
An engaging portion consisting of a convex portion 25 and a concave portion 26 that is difficult to disengage in the opposite direction, that is, in the handling direction, is provided.

The tip 3 of the casing 1 is inserted into the opening of the guide member 22 of the casing 2 and pushed in the direction indicated by the arrow. Here, compared to the fit between the tip 3 of the casing 1 and the guide member 22, the fit between the fitting recess 14 and the guide member 22 is

Since the engagement between the fitting recess 26 and the recess 26 is relatively easy to disengage in this direction, the guide member 22 is first pushed in until it comes into contact with the bottom surface 14a of the fitting recess 14, as shown in FIG.

Then, as shown in FIG. 3, when the two parts are pushed further into each other, the tip 3 fits into the guide member 22, ie, the two parts are completely connected to each other. At this time, since the guide portion 5 guides the outer surface of the tip portion 12, both casings are reliably fitted into each other without being twisted. Also,
When the fitting convex portion consisting of the distal end portion 3 and the wide base end portion 4 enters into the fitting recess 14, the outer surface of the wide proximal end portion 4 comes into sliding contact with the inner surface of the fitting recess 14, The distal end portion 12 is held between the base end portion 4 and the guide portion 5.

By fitting the two casings in this manner, the tongue piece 18 of the male terminal 17 is inserted through the opening 11 in the end face of the tip portion 3 and is coupled to the coupling portion 9 of the female terminal 7. Here, in advance, casing 2
Since the tongue piece 18 is positioned and protected by the guide member 22, an unnecessary increase in insertion load due to bending of the pin, etc. is prevented, and poor connection of the terminal is also prevented.

In such a terminal coupler, when casing 1 and casing 2 are to be separated from each other, casing 1 and casing 2 are pulled in the direction in which they are separated from each other from the state shown in FIG. Then, as described above, the tip portion 3 and the guide member 2

Further, when both casings are pulled in the direction of separating them from each other, as described above, since the engagement state between the convex part 25 and the concave part 26 is relatively difficult to be released, the guide member 22 is not pulled out and the tip part 3 is separated from the guide member 22, that is, the casing 1 and the casing 2 are separated, returning to the state shown in FIG.

From the state shown in FIGS. 7 and 8 in which the protrusion 25 and the recess 26 are engaged, the tip 3 of the casing 1 is thrust into the opening of the guide member 22 of the casing 2 as shown by the arrow. Push it in the direction. Here, since the fit between the tip portion 3 and the guide member 22 is relatively loose,
First, the distal end portion 3 fits into the bottom surface of the guide member 22 without disengaging the protrusion 25 and the recess 26, and the protrusion 41 and the recess 42 engage elastically (FIG. 9).

Next, when the two parts are further pushed into each other, the engagement between the convex part 25 and the concave part 26 is released, as shown in FIG.
The guide member 22 is pushed in until it comes into contact with the bottom surface 14a of the fitting recess 14, and the protrusion 25 and the recess 43 engage elastically. Due to the fitting of both casings in this way, t! as in the first embodiment. In this terminal coupler, when casing 1 and casing 2 are to be separated from each other, casing 1 and casing 2 are pulled in the direction fJi away from each other from the state shown in FIG. Then, the engagement between the protrusion 25 and the recess 43 is relatively easier to disengage than the engagement between the protrusion 41 and the recess 42. As a result, the protrusion 25 and the recess 26 elastically engage with each other as shown in FIG.

According to this embodiment, the casing 1 and the casing 2 can be connected by simply molding the engaging portions of desired shapes in advance on the distal end portion 3 of the casing 2, the guide member 22, and the distal end portion 12 of the casing 1.
The fitting operation can be easily repeated, and the tip part 3, the guide member 22, and the tip part 12 need to be molded with relatively high precision fitting with each other as in the first embodiment. do not have.
