Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a marking ink which does not adversely affect the printing quality of ink discharging pressure-sensitive copying materials and a low conveyance load even when conveyed at a low temp. after being subjected to an accelerated test, by blending a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin with a color pigment and a vinyl chloride resin powder as main components. CONSTITUTION:A vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer resin, a color pigment and a vinyl chloride resin powder are incorporated as main components. As the color pigment, inorg. or org. pigments are preferred because they have good hiding power. However, when the conveyability of pressure-sensitive copying materials are taken into consideration, org. pigments are preferred. Any of conventional vinyl chloride resin powders can be used.

It is already known to attach colored marks (including white). However, conventional inks such as gravure inks currently used as end mark inks have the disadvantage that the resin component has poor adhesion and peels off, and in addition, strong adhesive resins such as polyester, epoxy, and urethane are used. In some cases, the problem is that blocking occurs with the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material, resulting in the ink layer peeling off.

As a method to overcome these drawbacks, the present inventors previously proposed a marking ink containing a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin and a color pigment as main components (Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 60-65078). ).

Unlike conventional marking inks, this ink has the advantage that it does not adversely affect printing quality or conveyance and does not peel off over time. When the material is then transported at a low temperature, there is a problem in that the transport load is large.

The present invention overcomes the drawbacks of the above-mentioned prior art, does not adversely affect the printing quality of ink-release pressure-sensitive copying materials, and even when conveyed at low temperatures after forced aging. An object of the present invention is to provide a marking ink that has a small transport load and does not peel off due to changes over time.

The marking ink of the present invention further contains vinyl chloride resin powder in addition to the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin and the coloring pigment, so blocking with the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material is extremely small. Even when subjected to forced aging at 70°C for one week, the marking ink does not adhere to the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material, and there is little ink leaching from the ink layer. It also has the advantage that the amount of transport load is small even when it is transported underneath.

Although the dispersibility of the ink is improved by containing a resin powder different from vinyl chloride resin, such as acrylonitrile resin or melamine resin, in addition to the above-mentioned resin powder, as in the present invention, the dispersibility of the ink is improved. It is not possible to obtain a product with excellent transportability.

Generally, the resin used in the marking ink must have good adhesion to the film substrate of the pressure-sensitive copying material, such as a polyester film. In addition, even if the adhesiveness is good, the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material will peel off, so it must be a material with little blocking. Also, resins with strong adhesiveness often have strong blocking properties, so it can be heated at 70℃ for 2 days. If it is subjected to forced aging, it will block with the resin of the ink layer and peel off the ink layer, or it will partially adhere to the ink layer. Furthermore, many resins with low blocking do not have adhesive properties with the film base material, such as polyester film, and the end marks will rub and peel off during transportation. On the other hand, the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin used in the present invention does not adhere so strongly to the film base material (usually polyester film) of pressure-sensitive copying materials, but does cause some blocking. However, the ink layer of pressure-sensitive copying materials is not covered with resin. The reason for this is not clear, but most of the binders in the ink layers of pressure-sensitive copying materials are vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate. This is thought to be because even if some amount of binder adheres, it is no different from a slightly increased amount of binder and does not have any negative effects.

The colored pigments used in the present invention also include white pigments, and inorganic or organic pigments are preferred because of their good hiding properties. However, in consideration of the transportability of the pressure-sensitive copying material, organic pigments are preferred, and when inorganic pigments are used, it is practical to use them in combination with organic pigments.

The marking ink of the present invention has the above-mentioned structure and further contains vinyl chloride resin powder in addition to the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin and the coloring pigment, so that blocking with the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material is extremely low. Because it is small, the marking ink does not adhere to the ink layer of the pressure-sensitive copying material even if it is subjected to forced aging at 70°C for one week, and there is little ink leaching from the ink layer.
This has the advantage that the amount of transport load is small even when transporting in a low-temperature environment after forced aging.
