Generally, the heating element of an electric heating device is made by winding heating wire around an appropriately divided insulating board to form a heating plate, stacking insulating plates on top and bottom of this heating plate, and placing appropriate metal holding plates on top and bottom of the heating plate. The whole thing is housed in a metal case. Heating wires were drawn out from the heating plate, treated with lead wires, and then crimped and fixed to the required part of the electric heating device as a completed heating element to satisfy the function. However, when considering the durability of the heating element as a whole, since each component of the heating element is laminated as described above, space layers often occur between the parts under various conditions. As a result, the wire temperature of the heating wire itself was increased abnormally, and the durability of the heating element was greatly affected. In particular, warping of parts and seam processing of metal cases are possible to some extent with processing technology, parts management, and process control, but the generation of a space layer due to overlapping at the dividing boundary line of appropriately divided insulating plates is caused by the completion of the heating element. Subsequent examination was not possible. As a result, the durability of the heating element varies considerably due to mass production.

In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a plurality of suitably divided insulating substrates, and a heating wire 2 is wound around the insulating substrate 1 to form a heating plate. Insulating plates 3 and 4 are stacked above and below this heat generating plate. A hole A for observing the alignment line is formed in the lower insulating plate 4 so as to correspond to the alignment line of the plurality of insulating substrates 1, and is aligned with the boundary line of the heating plate. Further, at the lower part of the lower insulating plate 4, a metal holding plate 5 is stacked at the same position and has a hole B for observing the alignment line corresponding to the alignment line of the plurality of insulating substrates 1. These components are all housed and held in a metal case 6 by being press-bonded so as to eliminate any space layer. Further, lead wires 7 are led out from the holes A and B for observing the alignment lines to form a heating element.

With the above configuration, the division boundaries of the plurality of insulating substrates 1 can be easily observed through the alignment line observation holes A and B, so that it is possible to easily determine whether or not the boundary lines overlap.

As described above, according to the present invention, among the upper and lower insulating plates that sandwich the heat generating plate from above and below, the lower insulating plate and the metal holding plate overlapped with this lower insulating plate correspond to the alignment line of the plurality of insulating substrates. Since a hole is formed for observing the alignment lines, when heating wires are wound around multiple insulated substrates, the alignment lines of multiple insulated substrates may accidentally overlap due to variations in the winding process, resulting in an overlapping situation. Even if insulating plates are placed on the top and bottom, and a metal holding plate is stacked on top of the lower insulating plate and held in a metal case by being crimped, the lower insulating plate and metal holding plate will be removed after the assembly is completed. The presence or absence of a spatial layer can be easily confirmed through the alignment line observation hole formed in the plate, and if a spatial layer is found by this confirmation, it can be modified to eliminate the spatial layer. It is possible to reliably guarantee the durability of the heating element, and even when storing the heating element in a metal case during the assembly process, the heating element is sandwiched between upper and lower insulating plates.
Furthermore, since the metal holding plate is stacked on top of the lower insulating plate, the directionality is determined, and reliable storage can be carried out without mistakes.
