Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the safety of a system including a FF burner and a pipeline, by a method wherein the title apparatus is equipped with a control unit, which stops the burning operation of a combustion unit by an abnormality signal from a safety checking unit. CONSTITUTION:When a power source switch 7 is put ON, a control unit 16 outputs a signal to close a solenoid valve 12 and start the operation of an exhaust fan 11 simultaneously. Under such condition, a pressure in an exhaust pipeline 13 increases when it is normal but the pressure does not increase to a value higher than a given value when it is abnormal. The signal of the pressure is detected by a pressure sensor 14 and is transmitted to the control unit 16. The control unit 16 judges that the exhaust pipeline 13 is normal when the pressure signal is higher than a cut-off value, opens the solenoid valve 12, starts the operation of a combustion unit 9 and advances room heating sequence. On the other hand, when the pressure signal does not increase to a value higher than the cut-off value, the control unit 16 judges that the exhaust pipeline 13 is abnormal and shifting to combustion sequence is stopped.

Conventional technology In recent years, forced intake/exhaust type heaters (hereinafter referred to as FF heaters) have been developed because of their ability to heat the indoor air without polluting it. It is attracting attention as the indoor environment during heating is being reconsidered. However, defects due to corrosion of the exhaust piping and poisoning caused by construction errors remain the same as before.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, in the above configuration, exhaust gas enters the room due to a defect in the exhaust pipe 6 or a mistake in construction, resulting in accidents such as carbon oxide poisoning. No matter how much the safety of FF heaters is improved, this kind of accident cannot be solved unless the system including the piping is considered, and half of the safety is left to the piping work. Furthermore, the durability of the piping and the environment in which it is used vary depending on the construction situation, which poses a major safety problem.

First, FIG. 2 shows the operation when the exhaust piping is normal, and FIG. 3 shows the operation when the exhaust piping is abnormal. When the power switch 7 is turned on, the control unit 16 issues a signal and the solenoid valve 12 is closed, at the same time the exhaust fan 11 starts operating. In this state, if the pressure inside the exhaust pipe 13 is normal, it will rise, but if it is abnormal, it will not rise above a certain value. This pressure signal is detected by the pressure sensor 14 and transmitted to the control section 16. If the pressure signal is equal to or higher than the cutoff value, the control unit 16 determines that the exhaust pipe 13 is normal, opens the solenoid valve 12, starts operation of the combustion unit 9, and advances the heating sequence. Further, if the pressure signal does not rise above the cutoff value as shown in FIG. 3, the control unit 16 determines that the exhaust pipe 13 is abnormal and stops the transition to the combustion sequence.
