[Background Art] Decorative building boards and the like are created by applying paint to the surface of a base material. Conventionally, a base material 1 having an embossed pattern on its surface is used, and the base material 1 is coated with color shading. When applying such a two-tone makeup with light and shade of color, a base paint is first applied as a base coat to the surface of the base material 1 to form a base coat 2, and then a top coat is applied to the surface of the base coat 2. Painting is done by forming a surface coating film 3 by applying a color clear surface paint as a color clear surface paint, but conventionally, the surface paint is applied to the concave portion at the end of the protrusion 4 as shown in FIG. 5, so that the thickness of the surface coating film 3 becomes thinner at the end position of this protrusion 4, and the shade of color is expressed by the change in the film thickness of this surface coating film 3. Ta. That is, the color of the base coating film 2 is made white so that the color of the white base coating film 2 can be seen through the thin part of the surface coating film 3, and the film thickness is adjusted so that the white color of the base coating film 2 can be seen through. The surface coating film 3 is made to be expressed in a light color in the thin part of the base coating film 2, and the surface coating film 3 is expressed in a dark color in the thick part where the white color of the base coating film 2 cannot be seen through. , to express the shades of color.

However, when expressing color shading in this way, there are the following problems. That is, first, in order to express the shade of color by changing the degree to which the white color of the base coating film 2 is transparent,
In order to prevent the color of the base material 1 from affecting this expression, it is necessary to reliably hide the base material 1 by the base coat 2, and therefore the base coat 2 must be coated in at least two layers. It is necessary to increase the overall film thickness of the base coating film 2 by doing this, which increases the cost.Furthermore, the thickness of the surface coating film 3 is made thinner at the ends of the protrusions 4 to improve the shade of color. In order to express this, a problem arises in that the waterproofness deteriorates at the end position of the protrusion 4 where the surface coating film 3 is thin.

[Object of the Invention] The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and there is no need to overcoat the base coat to form a thick layer, and moreover, it is possible to form a surface coat with a uniform thickness. The purpose of this invention is to provide a coating method that can express color shading.

[Disclosure of the Invention] However, in the coating method according to the present invention, when applying the base paint to the surface of the base material 1 having an uneven surface, the base paint 7 is applied to the surface of the protrusion 4 using the roll coater 8. After coating, the base paint 7 is applied to both the protrusions 4 and the recesses 5 using a flow coater 9, thereby forming a thick base coat 2 on the protrusions 4 and a thin base coat 2 on the concave parts 5. ,
Next, a surface coating film is applied to the surface of this base coating film 2 to form a surface coating film 3 with a uniform thickness. The effect of the color of the base material 1 is made to appear as a difference in shading of the base coating film 2 due to the difference in The present invention has been designed to achieve the above object, and the present invention will be explained in detail below with reference to Examples.

The surface of the base material 1 is provided with a large number of unevenness as an embossed pattern, and a base paint 7 is applied as a base coat to the surface of the base material 1. A material colored white, which is a lighter color than the base material 1, is used.
When applying the base paint 7, the base paint 7 is first applied only to the surface of the protrusion 4 among the irregularities. This coating can be carried out using a roll coater 8 as shown in FIG. 2a.
Next, a base paint 7 is evenly applied to both the protrusions 4 and the recesses 5. This coating can be carried out using a flow coater 9 as shown in FIG. 2b.
In this way, by applying the coating to the protrusion 4 and then to the protrusion 4 and the recess 5, the base paint 7
Therefore, the thickness of the base coating film 2 is thicker in the protrusions 4 and thinner in the recesses 5. At this time, when the base paint 7 is applied by the flow coater 9, a raised portion 10 is formed in the base paint film 2 at the end of the protrusion 4 as shown in FIG. 3 due to the surface tension of the base paint 7. The thickness of the base coating film 2 becomes particularly thick in some parts. After forming the base coating film 2 in this way, a surface paint prepared as a color clear by mixing pigment with a transparent and glossy clear paint is applied to the surface of this base coating film 2 in a uniform thickness, and then the first coating film 2 is coated with a uniform thickness. As shown in the figure, a surface coating film 3 is formed with a uniform thickness over the protrusions 4 and the recesses 5. The surface paint can be applied using a flow coater. A back coating film 11 is then formed on the back surface of the base material 1 to finish it as a decorative building board or the like.

However, in the case of a lever, the thickness of the base coating film 2 is thick in the protrusion 4, and the thickness of the base coating film 2 is thin in the concave part 5, so that the color of the base material 1 is different from that of the base coating film 2 in the protrusion 4. At the same time, the base coating film 2 cannot completely hide the base material 1 in the concave portions 5, and the color of the base material 1 appears as black in the concave portions 5 through the base coating film 2. Undercoat film 2
In this case, color shading occurs between the concave portions 5 and the protrusions 6, and the color shading of the base coating film 2 appears as shading on the surface coating film 3, making it possible to perform two-tone makeup using the color shading. be.
In particular, as shown in FIG. 3, at the end of the protrusion 4, the base coating film 2 becomes thicker at the raised part 10, so that the shading of the base coating film 2 between the protrusion 4 and the recess 5 becomes obvious. Become. Here, for example, when forming the base coating film 2, the base paint 7 on the protrusion 4 is
The solid content is 115g/ m2 , and the base paint 7 in the recess 5
By setting the coating amount to be 105 g/m 2 in terms of solid content and setting the difference in coating amount to about 10 g/m 2 , it is possible to However, it is possible to express the shade of color necessary for two-tone makeup. In this way, since it is not necessary to completely hide the base material 1 with the entire base coat 2, there is no need to increase the thickness of the base coat 2, and it is essentially possible to coat the base material 1 in one coat with the flow coater 9. Since the base coating film 2 can be formed in one layer, and the shading that occurs in the base coating film 2 can be expressed as it is on the surface coating film 3, the surface coating film 2 can be formed in one layer.
This means that it is possible to form a uniform thickness without having to form a thin part.

[Effects of the Invention] As described above, in the present invention, when applying the base paint to the surface of the base material having irregularities on the surface, after applying the base paint to the surface of the protrusion with a roll coater. By applying base paint to both the protrusions and recesses using a flow coater, a thick base coat is formed on the protrusions and a thin base coat is formed on the concave parts, and then surface paint is applied to the surface of this base coat. is applied to form a surface coating film with a uniform thickness, so the difference in concealment due to the difference in the thickness of the base coating between the protrusions and depressions formed using a roll coater and flow coater The effect of the color of the base material appears as a difference in the shade of the base coating, and this shading further appears in the surface coating to create a two-tone makeup. There is no need to completely hide the color with the entire base coat, so there is no need to increase the thickness of the base coat, and if the shading that occurs in the base coat appears as it is on the surface coat, it will become a two-tone makeup. The membrane can be formed to have a uniform thickness and will not have areas with low waterproofness.
