Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable character patterns to be accessed without performing decoding on a printing code basis when printing codes are received and enhance printing speed, by preliminarily determining characters to be printed by commands or manual operations, and forming a corresponding address table. CONSTITUTION:Command information 104 inputted is analyzed by a command- analyzing part 3 to determines which ones of characters to be printed are to be selected, and a selection signal 105 is outputted. The selection signal can be obtained also by a manual operation signal through operating a switch 4. The selection signal 105 thus obtained is received by an address-setting part 5, and an address setting signal 106 is outputted, whereby required addresses are set in an address table 1. The address table 1 in which address setting is completed receives a printing code 101, converts the code into an address 102 corresponding to a character pattern for the code, and outputs the address 102. A character pattern generating part 2 outputs a character pattern signal 103 corresponding to the address 102 inputted thereto, and the signal 103 is sent to a printing part.

The conventional printer character pattern access method is that when there is a printing code that has two or more types of characters that can be printed, first, it decodes whether it is one of these codes or not, and if so, which character it is. The method used was to decode whether to print and then access the address where the character pattern was stored. In other words, each time a code is received, it is decoded to see if the code has two or more types of characters that can be printed, and if so, it is further decoded to determine which character pattern to print. there were.

In the conventional access method described above, each time one print code is received, it is decoded to see if the code has two or more types of characters that can be printed, and if so, it is further decoded to determine which characters should be printed. is necessary.

In other words, the above-described processing must be performed every time one print code is received, which has the drawback of hindering high-speed printing.

The figure is a diagram for explaining the present invention in detail, and 11 shows a character pattern storage address table, 12 a pattern storage area of a character pattern generation section, and 13 an example of a character pattern to be output. First, this character pattern storage address table (hereinafter referred to as address table) is created in advance. That is, when the power is turned on or during operation, characters to be printed are determined in advance by a command or manual operation, and this address table is created or modified. For example, the printing code r30HJ has two types of characters that can be printed: "0" or "υ", and which one to print can be changed by analyzing a command or manually operating a switch on the printer. shall be taken as a thing. Also, at this time,
The character pattern for “0” is r4000H, from the address, rO

It is assumed that the character pattern starts from address "r5000H". In this case, if rQJ is selected to be printed by a command or switch, the address table for this print code r30HJ is [5000J
Put it in. When printing "0", enter '4000 J/J in the address table of r30HJ.In addition, in the printing code r41HJ, there is only one type of character that can be printed, "A", and at this time, "A" ” character pattern is entered from address r6000HJ, the address table for print code r41HJ includes r
Put 6000J in it. In this way, the addresses of the selected character patterns for all print codes are set in the address table. By preparing such an address table, when a print code is received, character patterns can be accessed by referring to this address table. That is, for example, when receiving the print code r41HJ, "4
1H", the character pattern is r according to the address table 11.
If the address ``6000H'' is accessed, a character pattern ``A'' such as 13 can be output.

FIG. 2 is a block diagram showing an embodiment of a device for concretely realizing the character pattern access method of the present invention. 1 is the address table, 2 is the character pattern generator, 3
is a command analysis section, 4 is a switch, and 5 is an address setting section. The input command information 104 is predetermined by the command analysis section 3, which determines which printing character to select, and outputs a selection signal 105. do. This selection signal can also be obtained by a manual operation signal from the switch 4. The obtained character selection signal 105 is received by the address setting section 5, and the address setting signal 106 is received as explained in FIG.
Output. This address setting signal 106 is used to set the necessary address in the address table 1.
A random access memory or the like can be used as the address table. The address table 1, which has completed address setting, receives the input print code 101, converts the code into an address 102 corresponding to the character pattern, and outputs it. The character pattern generating section 2 outputs a character pattern signal 103 corresponding to the input address 102 and sends it to a printing section (not shown) for printing.

As explained above, the present invention determines print characters in advance using a command or manual operation and creates a corresponding address table, so that when a print code is received, the characters are printed without decoding each print code. The pattern can be accessed, which has a great effect on speeding up printing.
