Introduction to Type 2 cars) Usually, a single-chamber structure is adopted as disclosed in the interior section on page A-2. That is, as shown in FIG. 3, it is formed between an instrument panel 1 and a front seat cushion 4 consisting of a driver seat cushion 2 and an assistant seat cushion 3, which are arranged opposite to the instrument panel 1. The length δ of the space 5 in the front-rear direction is approximately the same whether it is located at the center of the vehicle or at both sides in the left-right direction. That is, in the plan view shown in FIG. 4, line A indicating the end of the instrument panel 1 on the vehicle interior side and line B indicating the front end of the front seat cushion 4 are approximately parallel to each other. The legs of the occupant are located in a space 5 near the floor formed between the space 5 and the line B.

Since both the left and right sides of the vehicle are substantially the same, it has been desired to further improve comfort during riding and ease of getting on and off the vehicle. In particular, when a large passenger gets on or off the vehicle, his or her knees or buttocks are likely to hit the left and right ends of the instrument panel 1 or the left and right ends of the front seat cushion 4. It may be difficult to change the position of the seat, making it difficult to obtain the desired sitting posture.

In addition, since there is plenty of leg space after getting on the vehicle, the feeling of openness in the legs is enhanced.

Reference numeral 6 indicates a console box, 7 indicates a left door, and 8 indicates a right door. The instrument panel 1 is equipped with various meters, a glove box, a steering wheel, etc., but all of them are conventional. Since this is just a configuration, a detailed explanation will be omitted.

The length y in the front-rear direction at both left and right sides is larger. In other words, the space 5 is formed to gradually expand from the center O of the vehicle toward the left and right sides P and Q, and in order to completely form the space 5, the instrument Left and right sides 1a, 1 of panel 1

The left and right sides of the instrument panel and the left and right sides of the front seat cushion facing the instrument panel are connected to a space near the floor formed between the front seat cushion and the instrument panel. Since it is formed to have an irregular planar shape that gradually expands from the center of the vehicle toward both left and right sides, the following effects are brought about. That is, when a passenger gets on and off, the space near the door widens. This makes it easier to get on and off the vehicle, and prevents the occupant's knees, buttocks, etc. from hitting the instrument panel or the edges of the front seat cushion, which may cause discomfort to the occupant. In addition, since more leg space is provided after riding, the degree of freedom in positioning the legs is increased, allowing the user to take any desired seating position, and providing a feeling of openness in the legs. be.
