Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a fabric-laminated ABS resin sheet, which has enough peel strength and is suitable for heat forming by a method wherein an ABS resin sheet and a fabric are thermowelded together by interposing either polyester-based elastomer layer, polyurethane-based elastomer layer or polyamide-based elastomer layer between them. CONSTITUTION:A polyester knitted fabric is put upon the polyester-based elastomer side by coextruding ABS resin and polyester-based elastomer under molten state so as to laminate said fabric to the elastomer by contact-bonding with rolls. The group of elastomers has favorable weldability to ABS resin by thermowelding. In addition, by utilizing the low melt viscosity of the elastomer, the anchoring effect of the fabric to the elastomer layer is enhanced, and the peel strength between the fabric and the ABS resin is thereby improved to make them suitable for heat forming. Further, since no harmful solvent is used for ABS resin, no deterioration of the characteristic occurs.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Conventionally, cloth-attached ABS resin sheets have been manufactured by attaching cloth to an ABS resin sheet with a rubber adhesive or by press-bonding the cloth during extrusion molding of the ABS resin sheet.

Problems to be Solved by the Invention However, when a rubber adhesive is used, the solvent contained in the adhesive corrodes the ABS resin, resulting in deterioration of the physical properties of the sheet. In addition, if cloth is simply welded to the ABS resin sheet,
Since the melt viscosity of the BS resin is high, the anchoring effect of the cloth to the ABS resin sheet is small, and only a product with low peel strength can be obtained.
