Abstract

PURPOSE:To feed a chain by straightening it at high speed by detecting a twist by inserting into a rotary guide the chain continuously fed with giving it a tension from a bobbin and rotating the bobbin in the opposite direction to the twist based on the detection signal. CONSTITUTION:The chain 10 causing a twist is continuously fed with giving a tension from a bobbin 12. This chain 10 is inserted into the guide hole provided inside a rotary guide 15 to constrain the rotation of the chain 10. The rotary guide 15 is thus rotated according to the twist of the chain 10. The twist is detected by detecting this rotation by photosensors 20A, 20A via a detection plate 19. The motor (figure omitted) built in a battery jar box 11 fitting said bobbin 12 rotatably is driven by this detection signal to rotate the bobbin 12 in the reverse direction to the twist of said chain 10. The chain 10 is thus fed to the processing machine of the succeeding stage with constant direction at all times.

If a long chain with kinks is forced to be wound around a bobbin in an unreasonable manner, the chain may be deformed or destroyed. If the chain is to be fed to the next process while still being twisted, the twisting is removed manually each time. If this kind of twist is removed manually, it cannot keep up with the speed of the machining process in the next process, causing problems.

In order to achieve the above object, in the present invention, a chain that has been twisted due to compression processing or the like is wound around a bobbin in that state. After that, the chain is continuously inserted under tension through a rotating guide with a guide hole that restrains the rotation of the chain supplied from the bobbin, and a sensor placed in the rotating guide follows the twist of the chain. By detecting twist and using the signal to drive the motor and rotating the bobbin in the opposite direction to the chain twist, twist is eliminated and the chain is always sent to the next process without twist.
