Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the calling quality while the number of interface signal lines between a radio equipment and a telephone set is decreased by digitizing a transmission/reception sound signal, unifying a transmission line and an incoming control line and further integrating a receiving line and an outgoing control line. CONSTITUTION:The interface line 4 consists of a signal line 15 for earth or the like, a transmission in common with incoming control line 21 and a receiving in common with outgoing control line 22. A sound signal for transmission/ reception is digitized by a digital telephone set 1A and a digital radio equipment 2A. The digital telephone set 1A samples a transmission sound signal, digitizes it to insert a digitized transmission sound signal by one sample in a voice frame 33 shown in signal format diagram. Thus, the number of words (word frequency) is decided corresponding to the sample frequency of the transmission sound signal. On the other hand, the incoming control signal is subjected to formatting and the result is inserted in a control frame 34. The control frame 34 has only to be changed in response to the quantity of the incoming control signal. The similar processing is applied also to the reception and outgoing control line 22.

Next, the operation will be explained. Since the radio telephone device is a device capable of making telephone calls using radio, the voice signal is converted into an electrical signal by the transmitter and handset of the telephone 1, and is sent to and received from the radio device 2 through the interface line 4. In radio device 2,
Modulation to the radio, demodulation from the radio, etc. are performed, and the antenna 3 transmits and receives the radio waves as radio waves, making it possible to make a telephone call via radio.

In a conventional radio telephone device, a telephone 1 and a radio 2 are separated into a transmission line 11 for transmitting voice signals and a reception line 12 for transmitting voice signals for reception, and each voice signal is transmitted and received as an analog signal. Ta. Further, upstream control signals such as dial signals and hook signals are sent through an upstream control line 13 to control the radio device 2. On the other hand, the downlink control signal for controlling the telephone 1 from the radio 2 was sent by the downlink control m14, and the signal line 15, such as the ground line, was used for other signals.
