Abstract

PURPOSE:To make the cut surface of an integral molding into a smooth surface similar to a specularly finished surface and to reduce the cost of a cleaning blade by molding plural blade members integrally out of a raw material containing an antifriction agent, and cutting the molding into the individual cleaning blades. CONSTITUTION:A couple of right and left plate-shaped holding materials 21 are arranged across a mold 8a and sandwiched between molds 6 and 7 in this state, and a molding metallic mold is assembled by matching the mold 8 with their bottom parts. Then, urethane resin liquid to which fluororesin powder as the antifriction agent is added and dispersed is injected into the cavity 11 formed of the molds 6, 7, and 8 and set to form a blade member. Then the molding obtained by removing the molds is cut with a sharp cutting blade from a plate surface joint part shown by an alternate long and short dash line A' to obtain the cleaning blades. consequently, the cut surfaces are smooth surfaces similar to conventional specularly finished surfaces, maintenance operation of the specular surfaces of the molding metallic molds is reduced or eliminated, and the cost of the metallic molds is reduced.

An electrophotographic copying machine is equipped with a photosensitive drum having a photoconductor surface layer, and the outer circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum is uniformly charged, and then the outer circumferential surface is exposed to light through the image of the object to be copied. Copying is performed by forming an electrostatic latent image on the outer circumferential surface, applying toner to the electrostatic latent image to form a toner image, and transferring this to copy paper or the like. And 1. After the copying, toner remains on the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum, so it is necessary to remove this residual charged toner, and this removal is performed using a cleaning blade. This cleaning blade is shown in FIG. 1O. In the figure, reference numeral 1 denotes a cleaning blade, and a thick plate-shaped blade member 4 made of soft urethane resin is attached to the tip of a metal plate-shaped holding member 3 with a flange 2, with the length direction aligned. The tip of the holding material 3 is embedded in the blade member 4. This cleaning blade 1 has the blade side of the blade member 4 pressed against the photosensitive drum 5 rotating in the direction of the arrow as shown in FIG. Remove residual toner (not shown)
scrape off. This type of cleaning blade generally uses a molding mold that is split into left and right halves and has a cavity for casting the blade member 4 made of soft urethane resin, and a plate-shaped holding material 3 is placed in the cavity of the molding mold. In this state, a molding material for a soft urethane resin is injected into the cavity, molded, and then removed from the mold. The cleaning blade thus obtained is used in the state shown in FIG. That is, when the frictional resistance between the two increases, it is necessary to rotate the photosensitive drum 5 against the frictional resistance, and therefore it becomes necessary to increase the output of the drive motor (not shown).
The surface of the photosensitive drum 5 is worn or damaged by the frictional resistance, resulting in a decrease in the quality of the copied image.

Therefore, conventionally, the mold surfaces of the molding die corresponding to the one plate surface A (see FIG. 1) of the blade member 4 that comes into pressure contact with the photosensitive drum 5 and the end surface B adjacent thereto are mirror-finished, and the above-mentioned plate Surface A and end surface B were finished to be smooth. However, doing so not only causes an increase in the cost of the molding die and the cleaning blade, but also requires complicated maintenance work to keep the mirror surface in good condition at all times. Furthermore, there was a manufacturing problem in that there were restrictions on the use of mold release agents, which were a major factor in deteriorating the mirror surface.

That is, in order to solve the above problems, the present inventors attempted to add and disperse an anti-friction agent such as fluororesin powder into the constituent raw material of the above-mentioned soft urethane resin blade member. However, since such an anti-friction agent is dispersed in the base polymer, it is not exposed on the surface of the soft urethane resin blade member, and therefore the anti-friction agent has little effect of reducing frictional resistance. As a result of further research, we found that when several blade members were integrally molded using a raw material containing an anti-friction agent and cut into individual cleaning blades, the cut surface (-plate surface) was mirror-like. The inventors have discovered that the smooth surface is almost the same as the finished surface, and that the cut surfaces of the lubricant particles are exposed on this smooth surface, resulting in a significant reduction in the coefficient of friction, leading to the development of the present invention.

When manufacturing a cleaning blade using the above-mentioned mold, a pair of left and right plate-shaped holding members 21 are placed through the fourth mold 8a, and in this state, the first and second molds 6.
The third mold 8 is placed between the molds 7 and the bottoms of the first and second molds 6 and 7 to assemble a molding die. Next, a urethane resin liquid in which fluororesin powder as an anti-friction agent is added and dispersed is poured into the cavities formed by the first to fourth molds 6, 7, 8.8a and cured to form a blade. Convert into parts. Then, the mold is removed to obtain a molded product in which two plate-shaped soft urethane resin blade members 9 are integrated with their plate surfaces in contact with each other, as shown in FIG. A leaning blade as shown in FIG. 3 is obtained by cutting the thus obtained molded product with a sharp cutting blade from the plate surface joint shown by the dashed line A' in FIG. In this case, the cut surface (-plate surface) A of the soft urethane resin blade member 9 of the cleaning blade becomes a smooth surface that is almost the same as the mirror-finished surface, and as shown in FIG. A plurality of cut surfaces 13a of the fluororesin powder particles 13 added and dispersed in the liquid appear.

Therefore, as shown in FIG. 1), when this cut surface A is brought into pressure contact with the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum 5, the smoothness of the cut surface A and the cut surface 13a of the fluororesin powder particles exposed on the cut surface result in A significant reduction in frictional resistance is achieved. In this case, the end surface B of the blade member 9 is a smooth surface due to the transfer of the mirror surface of the mold. However, the cut surface of the fluororesin powder particles does not appear.

As a result, the frictional resistance of the cut surface A of the blade member 9 that comes into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum 5 is significantly reduced.
Even if a sufficient cleaning effect is obtained by pressing the blade member 9 against the outer circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum 5 with the same pressing force as in the past, the output of the drive motor will increase and the surface of the photosensitive drum 5 will wear out. Such inconvenient situations will not occur. In addition, since the area of the mirror surface of the molding die can be reduced, the cost of the mold can be reduced, and at the same time, the amount of maintenance work can be reduced and the degree of freedom in the use of mold release agents can be increased. It becomes like this.

In addition, when adding and dispersing an antifriction agent, such as a fluororesin powder, to the urethane resin liquid as described above, the amount of antifriction agent is set to 5 to 60 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the urethane resin liquid. Good results can then be obtained, and it is preferable to use an anti-friction agent having a particle size of 5 μm or less.

The molded article thus obtained is shown in FIG. That is, this molded product has two upper and lower sets of two soft urethane resin blade members 9 that are integrated with their plate surfaces in contact with each other, as shown by the chain line A' in the figure. By dividing each into four, as shown by and C, four cleaning blades are obtained. In this case, the cut surface formed by cutting along the chain line A'' is the first
) As shown in the figure, it slides into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the photosensitive drum to form a plate surface A, and the cut surface formed by cutting along the chain line C forms an end surface B adjacent to the above-mentioned plate surface A. In this example, since the above-mentioned single plate surface A and end surface B can be formed by cutting, a mold having no mirror surface at all can be used as a molding mold, and a significant reduction in mold cost can be obtained. It becomes like this.

In addition, if the plate surface joint part of the molded product in which the two blade members 9 are integrated is long, the upper part of the joint part is cut out to increase the length of the plate surface joint part, as shown in FIG. It may also be possible to reduce the size to facilitate cutting. In this case, as shown in FIG.
However, if the notch depth d of the notch portion 19 is set small, there will be no problem with the cleaning effect.

In addition, as another method of manufacturing a cleaning blade, a rectangular cylindrical cavity 1) is formed by removing the insertion portion of the plate-shaped holding material 21 from the molding die shown in FIGS. 1 and 5. Make 14,
A molding material is injected into this to produce a molded product (the one shown in FIGS. 2 and 6, except for the plate-shaped holding material 21). Next, the obtained molded product is cut along the chain line A'' in FIG. 2 or the chain lines A' and C in FIG. There is a method of obtaining a leaning blade as shown in FIG. 9 by gluing the material 21. This method can also produce the same effects as the above embodiment. Note that the cleaning blade having the structure shown in FIG. 9 can also be manufactured by changing the arrangement position of the blade member 15 in FIG. 1 or FIG. 5.

In the cleaning blade of the present invention, one plate surface of the plate-shaped soft blade member is formed by cutting, resulting in a smooth surface almost similar to a mirror-finished surface, and the cut surface of anti-friction particles is distributed and exposed on the plate surface. As a result, frictional resistance is significantly reduced. Therefore, even if a sufficient cleaning effect is obtained by sliding the tip end of the plate surface against the outer circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum with the same pressing force as in the past, the output of the drive motor cannot be increased or the photosensitive drum No inconvenient situations such as wear or damage will occur. Further, according to the method of the present invention, a cleaning blade is manufactured by molding a plurality of blade members into an integral state with their plate surfaces in contact with each other, and cutting this molded product from the joint of the plate surfaces. Therefore, the cut surface becomes a smooth surface that is almost the same as a conventional mirror-finished surface.
